Hey, I know right now I go on about allergies (which I personally prefer) but all will come in due time, promise!

Lucy looked at me and we shared excited grins.

Fresh out of collage for the summer but we weren’t going home, like our peers, we were going to donate our noses to science! both my best friend and I had hay fever and, although it could get frustrating the truth was, we really liked having them.

For 2 weeks of the summer were going to be boarding in a testing facility together letting people conduct tests on us and our allergies. It was going to be fun we decided.

Once we had unloaded the luggage from the taxi we took a look at the facility. It was huge. It looked like a sorority house, large and Victorian, 3 visible floors and stonewalls. tentatively peeking inside we instantly saw a massive grand staircase facing us with doors to the left and right. In the front room it was impeccably clean with dark brown wood decorating the room. There were others in here. Like it had said on the sign-up sheet, ages 18-35. A mix of men and women. Once we had dragged our things through the oak door we were handed a pack filled with papers. The first told you about the house itself.

To the left was the lounge/gaming area; to the right was the dinning room and kitchen, the second and third floors were bedrooms and behind the staircase was the testing rooms. The Specialists started calling people forward and into the testing rooms, once they were out they collected their bags and headed upstairs. Lucy and I were sharing a room, we both got nervous when we thought of being far away from home and in a strange place so we applied for a joint-room.

our names were called "Lucy McDonald and Natalie Carmichael" a women said, she had a kind face oval shaped and welcoming. we stepped up.

"Ms McDonald you are in Testing room 1 and Ms Carmichael you are in testing room 2" she smiled.

We walked round the stairs until a hall with 3 rooms came into appearance. Small numbers hung from the door handles. Lucy winked before going in. Eyes wide with curiosity, I followed suit.

Just a prelude, sort of- no sneezing but there will be plenty to come. No-one will escape my wrath! :D

Sounds like a very interesting concept. I'd love to see how this plays out, and to meet the other test subjects! :lol:

Lovely start. I wonder what comes next. :(

How fortunate they decided to spend their summer in this fashion. :D

... So as promised. Here is the next installment I'm really sorry for having you wait for so long :laugh:

PART 2:

Entering the large room, it all looked so sterile. The nurse had sharp eyes, which darted over me before consulting my chart.

"Natalie Carmichael, brown eyes, brown hair, 108lb, Hey fever." I nodded, even though it was not a question. she motioned to sit on the bed, I did. a little Q&A session then she did a small test, taking out of a bag, what resembled a small q-tip. She slid it up a nostril then back out. I felt the slight burn immediately and hitched, my eyelids drooped and my head got a little fuzzy in preparation for the sneeze.

"Heh- ishew eschew!" and the women wrote in her notebook.

"Good to go" she announced I nodded once more and left the room, outside Lucy was already waiting for me. We went back to the front room and collected our leaning tower of luggage and huffed upstairs with it. On the second floor, to the left was the girls' wing and to the right was the boys'. The third floor was where the couples and Specialists were to reside.

In the girls wing there were 4 bedrooms, Lucy and I sharing and 3 others. We found the right room and stood at the door. It was a beige room with 2 beds, a bathroom to the right, a small TV and sofa in the left hand corner. Quaint.

Right after that was a huge house meeting, which underlined the rules bla..bla....bla. then we went to sleep, excited for what lay ahead tomorrow.

I groaned before rolling out of bed, my natural body clock waking me early as usual. I saw lucy, well, I saw the bump in the covers I assumed was Lucy, I gave her a nudge with my foot laughing when the mound shifted and a growl erupted from inside. The pure white sheets were tangled into a bundle around my legs, about average comfort for the bed. Lucy's head emerged, she sat up and cupped her hands as her delicate nose twitched ready for her ritual early morning sneezes, "hitch-ew... hih... hitch-hew" then we fell into an old practised routine that came from sharing a dorm for a number of years.

Once decent we dragged ourselves downstairs to see everyone going about the business of getting breakfast. We joined them. It all seemed really normal and natural to sit in the room with all those people who we had never met. I sat next to a man who had his head down on the table and, if I wasn’t mistaken, was having a small nap, I made sure not to nudge him. He was very pretty though, If you could call a man pretty. He had an angular jaw and long dark eyelashes to match his dark shiny hair. He looked peaceful and regretted having to wake him when the consultants came for us. It was time to start the experiments.

I like this story a lot an am eager to find out what happens next! please write more of the story soon thank you.
