I've now re-installed the chat room successfully. However there's a problem. Due to a conflict between the new forum software and the latest version of the chat room, there's currently no way for the Staff to limit who can enter Chat because we can't currently modify the access privileges for each user group. The default setting is for a group to be permitted entry to the chat room and hence if we were to enable Chat now then anyone, including guests and Banned members could access it.

This would be, in the opinion of the Staff, an unacceptable situation. Hence the chat room will not be available until this problem can be resolved. I have informed the makers of the chat room software of the problem and they have said they are aware of it and working on a solution is one of their top priorities.

In the meantime I can only apologise and ask for your patience while we await a solution. I will post any further updates as and when we receive them.
