Color It Pink

Wasn't positive where to post this, but this looks about right. Yes, you read that correctly - poetry. I had a new idea a week or two ago about something to write about, but it didn't seem right for fiction, so instead it's poetry! Entirely experimental (though it helped that we've been looking at Shakespearean sonnets in Lit/Comp and I got a very nice cold obs from a very cute girl in another class ), and oddly deep and thoughtful if I do say so myself This, by the way, is not in the form of said Shakespearean sonnet, just a bunch of ABAB stanzas thrown together. Anyway, lemme know what you think!

She turns her head and coughs, and I

Become aware so instantly

Is it for real, or just a lie?

Imaginings wash over me

My fantasies are not remote

(Yet not fulfilled as much they should)

A cutie with a “cobbod code”

Is all I’d ask for, if I could.

But now, my musings take true form,

Or so it would appear to me;

Her face is tired and forlorn

Another cough – and then I see

Her gorgeous nose, close to the tip,

Has taken on a different shade

Perchance through it many sneezes rip

And then, in turn, this pink glow be made.

Pink, just like the color of

All womankind’s femininities

Her grace and beauty, like a dove,

The beauty of her nose and sneeze

– But is it really pink I see?

Or is it what I want to think?

My mind might just be tricking me –

I see her nose and color it pink.

But all men have ideas how women ought

To be, on what they like to see

So, whether fetishistically or not

All men shade women differently.

Okay, that? Was absolutely lovely and adorable in every way. I love the ending.
