Sapphire Posted March 11, 2004 Share Posted March 11, 2004 O.K. I was giving a presentation in a class. It was a small class of 8 people. The professor at the head of the table sneezes while I am speaking during the presentation. It was a real quick and soft "Ah-choo." For some reason, it got on my nerves. Maybe because I was talking, and I couldn't observe it too well. Or, I'm really not sure why. Would anyone else be annoyed, or is it just me? Link to comment
Guest nosey Posted March 11, 2004 Share Posted March 11, 2004 Yes, yes, yes! I would consider it an interruption and annoyance for the professor to have sneezed. Of course, I won't sneeze in public period, thus I've trained myself very well over the years to hold them back. Not everyone can do that and most people, I've observed, wouldn't even think twice about trying to in such a situation. But here's why I would have been annoyed: 1) The turn-on factor. (I like male and female sneezing.) Who wants to be turned on during a presentation? 2) The "what-if-anyone-can-see-my-reaction" factor, whether it's annoyance or blushing or not saying "bless you" or whatever." Link to comment
