Heathcliff
Recently I've heard stories in the media about young people today having unprecedented access to pornography through the internet; and the potential harmful effects of this.I was thinking of starting a topic in the adult board about porn- questions like: how much porn did you see as a teenager? In what form (i.e. magazine, online, etc.)? Do you think it affected you, or gave you any misconceptions about sex?I'd be particularly interested in the different experiences of people who grew up without the internet (like me) and had seen relatively little porn in their teenage years, to those who had seen more. However, there is an obvious problem with this topic. We all know that a lot of porn-viewing is done while people masturbate; so, a discussion about looking at porn during teenage years seems dangerously close to breaking forum rules about under-18s engaging in sexual activity. Personally I think it would be okay simply to talk about 'looking at porn' with no reference to masturbation (and certainly, porn is not always viewed just to aid masturbation). However, I would like a member of staff to pass judgment on this before I post anything; because I want to know I will not immediately get a warning if I start it.
