This was something I began a while ago intending on making a full story, but recently decided to just leave it as a drabble. If the names seem familiar, they are. I have written one drabble and a story about these two characters before. Even though it is short, I hope this is enjoyed. Word Count: 171 *** “Honey?” The young woman presses a tentative hand to the brunette’s forehead. Her eyes soften in sympathy as the heat touches her frigid hand. “Mm…?” He lifts his head, peering up at her through the thick fog that surrounds him. Audrey shifts her position, threading her fingers through his disheveled hair. “You have a fever.” She informs. James sniffles, “I’m not sick.” “I’ve heard you sneezing all day.” “No.” He murmurs, averting his gaze to the floor. “We live together, James. I’m going to be able to hear you down the hallway.” Audrey had prepared for this conversation, knowing he would attempt to seem healthy despite having a severe cold. “…It’s allergies.” “You don’t have allergies,” She rolls her eyes when he’s not looking. “I should know.” “Maybe I just haven’t told you about them.” “We’ve been together for three years.” Audrey replies blankly. James sighs, “Fine…” “Fine, what?” “I don’t… Huh-ESSSHH!” He rubs his nose with his wrist. “I don’t feel well.” Audrey smiles, “That I can help you with.” Link to comment
