Favorite TV/movie to watch when you're sick

I've been sick in bed for a few days with a pretty bad cough and cold. Been surviving solely on soup and pity, and my Tom Waits impression is impeccable now.

Anyway, I need a fun, light, perky TV show or movie to watch.  Please send your favorites (also, more pity)!

Being sick is definitely a good opportunity to watch escapist stuff or even stuff that may not be escapist, but is still a lot of fun to watch. My picks would be: The Star Wars movies (Except the prequels), the Indiana Jones movies (except for Kingdom of the Crystal Skull), Back to the Future, Ghostbusters, Chicken Run, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Toy Story 2, Charade, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, Hot Fuzz,  Wonder Woman, the Harry Potter movies, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, the Hellboy movies, Pacific Rim, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Snakes on a Plane, Shaun of the Dead, A Hard Day's Night, Amelie, , Ratatouille,  GoldenEye, Casino Royale, Skyfall, Knocked Up, Superbad, Stardust, Star Trek (the J.J. Abrams one), Fast and Furious 6, Son of Rambow, the Mission: Impossible movies, Spider-Man 2, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Rango, Frozen, Airplane!, The Lego Movie, Edge of Tomorrow, Beetlejuice, Pitch Perfect and Young Frankenstein.

Such variety. Have not seen some of these in awhiiiiile, or at all. I was watching some  Monty Python's best bits yesterday so I love that you mentioned that. This is definitely a good start to make being bedridden a bit more exciting... yesterday i just slept most of the day. Thanks!

I'm in the same boat and I just watched Dumplin' on Netflix. It was adorable and I loved it! Parks and Rec is a go to of mine as well as New Girl (especially the episode where they all get sick)

Wow, I just watched the trailer to see what Dumplin’ was about and it looks awesome and hilarious!

I think you should watch comedies like Modern Family or Single Parents and good dramas that’ll make you forget you’re sick. How to get away with murder and scandal are my top two favorite shows.

Hope you feel better soon and lots of pity thrown your way over the internet!

Nice, thanks.  I'm very particular about my dramas and don't usually gravitate towards the genre so easily so this is fresh!

I don't really watch movies or TV. I'm way more into YouTube, and especially Let's Plays, but if I may make a suggestion on that front- watching Game Grumps playing Trauma Center (or a compilation video of just the Dr. Hoffman parts) always, always, always makes me feel better when I'm truly unbearably ill.

Watching goofballs try to doctor, just completely ineffectually- it makes me feel way better (especially if I'm already kinda giggly-stupid from cold medicine)

I hope you feel better! Being sick is the pits!

oooh. I'm open to new things. Day 3 or 4? in bed (cant remember) and haven't been working. My brain is mush. I watched Absolutely Anything yesterday. It's with Simon Pegg so of course it was pretty silly and absurd. Been watching crime dramas for days + silly movie and not moving around much is getting to me. 🦁

Honestly, i LOVE youtube for days when i'm just not feelin well! whether i'm sick or just have the blahs i like to snuggle in bed and watch food shows, videogame shows, and vlogs until i feel better. Some of my favorites are Hellthy Junk Food, The Scran Line, Carrie Rad, the Vlogbrothers channel(s), TrainerTips, and PikAsprey Yellow

RuPaul's Drag Race!

Seconding that! There's SO much positive energy in Drag Race, as well as a ton of creative, funny, and beautiful people. I recently got into Drag Race and binge watched seasons 7-10 on Netflix while I was feeling kind of low, and it was wonderful :cryhappy:

I would also like to recommend the TV series "Chuck", which is an action/comedy/spy series telling the story of an average computer nerd, who works at the computer help desk of an electronic chain store and accidentally ends up with all the US spy secrets saved to his brain. It has action, comedy, humour, a love story, AND a great soundtrack.

Another light-hearted comedy/crime/drama series that is fun to watch is "Psych".

Movies I love watching while being sick which haven't been mentioned so far are "Love Actually", "The Grand Budapest Hotel", "Hotel Transylvania".

I hope you'll be feeling better soon :)

Ugh might need these suggestions 😭 So I’m going to check out a couple of these. But I wanted to mention the series I’m re-watching right now. Mindy Project!!! It’s super funny!
