Huge nose blows on train

On a train, a woman sitting on her own in the seat horizontally opposite, around 40, deep olive skin, long black and grey woolen coat, leggings, boots, took a partially crumpled tissue, held it to her nose with one hand, really clasping it hard there, and did an explosive snotty one, very loud, no honking. She put the tissue down on the desk in front of her, then carried on eating something. A few minutes later, she retrieved it and gave a longer, less furious, smoother blow, but still quite snotty. Almost immediately afterwards, a man behind me started a huge honking blow into a handkerchief, which resonated through the carriage like a foghorn.
