Nose blowing on the train (f)

I had to catch the train today. 

Across the aisle from me were two women. One early 40s with dark hair, one maybe 30 with red hair. 

I heard a nose blow, nothing too wet or honky, just a nice neutral sounding one, and looked over. 

The older one was blowing her nose in a grey hanky with a darker grey striped border. 

I then heard her say something like, sorry I'm just getting over a cold, to which the other lady replied something like who isn't. 

So obviously I kept paying attention. 

The train ride was probably 20 mins long before they got off but in that time the older one blew her nose two more times, keeping her hanky in hand between each blow.
