I might be able to help. If you email me with your Discord and we become friends on there, I should be able to add you to the group. :) My contact info should be up on my profile now. :)

Those of us who are new and haven’t been validated yet can’t see other members’ profiles.

So it’s not going to be an option until we achieve validation.

I believe it’s set up this way as a security measure, to ensure each new member is genuine (and not a spammer or a shark.)

I wish I could view others profiles but unfortunately I haven’t been validated yet!  You could still post the link to discord however.

Not a mod, but I hate to see anyone get in trouble unnecessarily, so…

1. Who amends the forum’s constitution?

2. Do members have a say in what is amended?

1. The site owner and admins.

2. No.  Sorry if that's short and harsh, but there's a reason.  Rules like the no contact information and waiting to be validated aren't because the staff are power hungry old meanies who enjoy annoying people for no reason.  It's for safety.  Posting personal information on the open forum leaves you open to be targetted by spammers, trolls, and bots.  Allowing people full access to all features of the forum, like seeing profiles, right away opens members up to be targetted by people with malicious intent.  Someone could just join up and immediately start sending vile messages to whoever they wanted.  The rules are there to protect that.  Those of us who have been here a while and have seen when the site starts getting troll traffic thanks to an article about the fetish, or whatever...you start to understand why the rules are as strict as they are.  I know it can be annoying, but be patient, and you'll get there! :)

@sneezefan222 Also, remember posts can’t be edited once made (at least as far as I can tell,) so if someone posted their contact info on here, there would be no simple way to remove their contact details later!

The fact that none of us are consulted about these changes is unsettling to me.  Especially because we’re the ones that have to follow these rules yet we have no say.  Not to mention there are much more sophisticated ways to verify people are joining the forum for good reason.

I’m sure site admin could add that as a feature.  It would be nice if we could edit posts.

You can if you join the writers club, which allows fanfiction writers to make edits to fics they post. However this isn't open to everyone and you can also ask an administrator to delete things for you. And the point of restricting contact sharing is for your safety, it's internet safety 101. As well as mitigating trolls/sharks.

The owner has kept this forum running for decades and has paid the bill every month.

He made the rules and it wasn’t to be a dictator. It was for safety. And the rules have done a good job of that.

The members are not consulted because one, they want to play on here so the choices they make are going to be what will make them enjoy the experience better rather than what’s safe and what preventative measures can be established so the overall forum is good.

You enjoy the wholesomeness of the forum I imagine compared to other fetish sites and the rules are a big part of that.

Like what?

Asking upfront the reason why someone is joining? They are not going to tell the truth if they have bad intentions, but having somebody make quality posts and spend time on the forum before they have access to other areas or members of the forum ensures that the ones with bad intentions are going to give up and only see the areas like fun and games and off topic and general discussion, etc. We keep the adult board and other areas for members only.

A reason not to let people share contact information is to make sure the horny boys aren’t immediately jumping on every new female that comes on the site and giving away their contact info. And also to help prevent bots and trolls from coming to the site.

Not sharing contact info also helps people get to know each other on the site in public before moving into pms and text apps because you can tell a lot about a person from their posts.

These rules are not for the saavy ones that already know internet safety. It’s not for the ones that have good intentions and are good people. It’s for the rest.

Right I get that, but since most of us are over 18 we should know not to share contact information in the first place, unless you want to.  We don’t need an admin doing that for us.

The girls on this website should have the choice themselves to share contact information if they want.  Not only that what’s keeping someone from sharing once they’re validated?  They could get everyone’s info from their profile and spam/troll on other platforms.

In what I said above, I didn’t say it prevents the females from giving their contact info. I said it prevents the males from pestering the females by the males giving their contact info to every new female on the site before they’ve had a chance to breathe.

They’ll have to work to do it. They’ll have to be on the site and interact and make quality posts. Plus most members don’t have their contact info on their profiles. They use pms for private conversation.

Putting contact info on a profile is a choice before validation that anyone can make which ensures new members can talk to validated members and the contact info rule is upheld.

The one thing that is not accounted for is new members talking to each other off site by giving contact info and they just have to be patient. All the validated members were new once and wished to be validated right away. But most of the validated now would say it’s a good thing they had to wait.

No, you ASSUME that most people here are over 18, but you have no way of knowing. If you’ve read some of the fetish stuff on tumblr, you’d know that’s definitely not the case.

Even in the old days, when most people had internet access via university or work, there were still teens sneaking their way online. I remember chatting to another female uni student and agreed to meet up with “her” on campus only to find out it was her 13 year old son using her account! And that was in the 90s.

Today millions of teens have their own tablet, phone, laptop etc. many with little or no oversight. Do you honestly think they don’t seek out information about sex?

Also, in the Good Old Days, (tm) people had to seek out porn. It didn’t fall into our laps uninvited. Today, with things like pornhub and the changing model making so much porn freely available and unasked for, research shows the average boy encounters porn for the first time by age 11!

Also, not everyone who uses the forum is a native English speaker. Clarity regarding the rules is a good thing.

Are you serious?

You expect a forum that has existed for over two decades to have consulted you on your wishes when you’ve been a member for the equivalent of five minutes?

This is a privately run forum with a public section and a private section. This is not a democracy. You are not entitled to make demands as if you were a citizen with voting rights complaining to your elected representative.

Hi all, for reasons beyond my control or comprehension I may have been hacked. I'm not sure which social media it happened on. I am leaving or removing a couple of them off my cell phone, including a Facebook etc. I'll stay HERE and check in periodically. Happy 🤧🤧

@Heathcliff, I'm doing fine. The person has been blocked and I was advised he was removed from Discord.

Please send me email so I can provide the screen name, which was being used. That's all I have at the moment. Thanks. Have a great day or evening.

@Heathcliff

I've removed Kik and Discord from my cell phone. Kik has been very slow and it seems like it may be getting shut down, according to Google lookup back in 2019, not sure who's running it or not.

Discord, does not seem as secure feeling as SFF and I  believe the creepy person on Discord has been permanently removed.
