This image is taken from a 1958 advertisement for Tootal 'Pyramid' handkerchiefs. The original caption probably reflected the times. A lifetime later, how about ... ?

'Well, my new handkerchief has passed your "delicate little sniffle" test, shall we try it with one of your huge snotty blows?!'

I can't imagine that, in 1958, Tootal's marketing team would seriously consider alternative poses with the handkerchief. Situations such as a huge sneeze hitting the handkerchief or a fierce nose-blow being inflicted on it. Perhaps 'someone' (!!) could write a piece of fiction about what else might have happened ... ?!
