I love these two so much so I thought why not force some misery onto Vi and enjoy some just lesbian caretaking >:)

Never really seen these two written before despite seeing general arcane hype so feedback is extremely welcome ;D

“Now now, what have I told you about wrapping up warm?” Caitlyn hummed knowingly as she caught Vi on her way out of the door.

Of course the Zaunite had been severely underdressed for this time of year, only electing to wear a thin sweatshirt and loose joggers. No warm hat or fluffy gloves, not even bothering with a light scarf to keep the chill off her neck.

The temperatures lately had constantly been in the negatives, so cold in fact that pair had been snuggling up extra tight in evenings just to stay cosy- but of course the idea to wear something as simple hadn’t even crossed her mind.

Vi rolled her eyes in response to Caitlyn's gentle scolding, a mischievous grin tugging at the corners of her lips. "Ah, come on, Cupcake," she teased, "Where's the fun in bundling up like a snowman? Besides, I've got you to keep me warm." She winked, wrapping an arm around Caitlyn's shoulders and pulling her close to press a quick kiss to her cheek.

After moving to live with Caitlyn in Piltover, now that the threat of a war with Zaun was over, Vi had decided to join up with Caitlyn in her work as an Enforcer. They were placed in separate divisions, her hand-to-hand combat skills made a force to be reckoned out in the field, meanwhile Cait had used her brains to work her way up the ladder to become a commanding officer.

Caitlyn chuckled, leaning into Vi's embrace. "You always find a way to charm your way out of things, don't you?" she said, a fondness evident in her tone. "But just remember, I won't be there to keep you warm every time you're out in the cold." She gently tapped Vi's nose with her finger before slipping out of her embrace, a playful glint in her eyes. "Now, go on and conquer the day, but try not to freeze in the process." With a final wink, she watched Vi head out the door, waving her off as she headed out for the day.

Her day had gone pretty well. No major problems… well, apart from the fact she had been fucking freezing for the entire day. Not that she’d ever breathe a word of that admittance to Cait of course. If it just been a little chilly then she would’ve been fine, but it just had to rain, didn’t it?

The uniform enforcers wore wasn’t exactly made for the comfort, and the constant rain only made the already hefty armour heavy and uncomfortable.

Vi trudged through the rain-soaked streets of Piltover, her armor feeling heavier with every step. She couldn't help but curse under her breath at the relentless downpour. As she approached their apartment, she couldn't wait to shed her wet gear and finally get warm.

Pushing open the door, she was greeted by the sight of Caitlyn, already cosied up on the couch with a blanket and a book in hand. Vi couldn't help but smile at the sight, feeling a wave of warmth wash over her despite the chill still clinging to her bones.

“Not to say I told you so…” Cait shook her head fondly, looking over at her wife.

Vi could feel a tickle in her throat and a chill settling deeper into her bones. Ignoring it, she peeled off her damp armor and settled onto the couch beside Caitlyn, “I dont wanna hear it.” She grumbled, letting her head rest against the older woman’s side.

“You know I’m only teasing darling.” She shook off Vi’s grumpiness as the younger woman curled up to her. For someone so fierce, she certainly was cuddlier than you’d think.

For the next few hours, Vi snuggled closer to Caitlyn, but she couldn't shake a growing tickle in her throat. She swallowed hard, hoping to clear it, but it persisted, a nagging sensation that refused to be ignored.

She cleared her throat again, this time followed by a short cough. Cait looked down at her curiously, taking her eyes off the ongoing show to watch as the younger rubbed her throat a little. “You doing okay darling?” She inquired gently.

"Yeah, just a tickle," Vi replied with a faint smile, trying to downplay any concern. "Probably just a bit of dry air or something." She took a sip of some tea she’d made earlier, hoping it would sooth the growing irritation a little.

“Weren’t you complaining about your throat the other day too?” The officer asked, remembering the complaint her wife had made in passing a day or so ago.

The pink-haired woman only shook her head stubbornly, “It’s just a tickle.” She insisted, curling in on herself just ever so slightly as a chill rolled over her skin, she could feel goosebumps raising on her exposed arms which she prayed went undetected.

Of course they didn’t. Not with someone as observant as Caitlyn of course. But what the officer couldn’t work out was why Vi has goosebumps. Sure, she’d been out in the cold earlier, but they’d been snuggled up in the warmth of their home for hours now, surely, she should’ve acclimatised to the room's general temperature by now.

Now that she looked closer, she could make out the subtle signs of exhaustion on her wife’s features but sitting among the dark eyes and sleepy expression, an unfamiliar flush had hidden on her cheeks, printing them just the slightest tint of pink. It wouldn’t have even been visible without being close like this, even so you would’ve really needed to have been paying attention to see it. But of course, Cait had noticed it.

But despite her observations, it hadn’t clicked for her that Vi was probably getting sick until the brief moment of silence in between episodes of their show when she could hear the small, faint sniffles coming from

Beside her. Then it made sense. All she needed to do was-

“You’re a little warm.” Caitlyn hummed as she pressed her lips to the forehead of her sniffling wife. The warmth coming off her really was gentle. But Vi ran cold, most Zaunites did, and just that slight heat was enough to confirm her suspicions.

Vi, ever the stubborn one, scrunched up her nose and batted away the latter’s hand as she tried to hold it to her forehead, “That’s stupid because I’m freezing.” She grumbled, shuffling her feet a little as her wife pulled a blanket over them and up to her knees.

The navy haired girl woman hummed, clicking her tongue in the way that she did when she had more to say but she simply shook her head fondly and cupped her flushed cheek softly, “Hm, well regardless I’m keeping my eye on you darling.” She knew not to push her wife too hard when she was in one of her difficult moods.

The Zaunite let out a soft sigh, leaning into her wife’s touch despite her protest. “Whatever just don't fuss too much. I’m fine Cupcake," she said, her voice slightly muffled by the congestion forming in her sinuses.

Caitlyn smiled, brushing a stray lock of hair from Vi's forehead. "I can't help but fuss over you," She replied softly, gaining a small smile from the pink haired woman.

"Besides," She continued, her voice gentle, "I enjoy fussing over you a little. It's nice especially since you’re always so ‘I’m so tough and I can do it myself’.” She imitated Vi’s voice, earning herself an unimpressed glare and an elbow to the side in response.

But the effect was lost on Cait, “Don’t at me look at with those eyes, you know that I’m right.” Vi rolled her eyes and went to object but instead of words, her breath got caught forcing herself into a raspy cough followed by a whispered curse, her wife’s brows crinkling in concern, “That doesn’t sound too good you know.”

“I know…”

As much as it hurt to hear, Caitlyn couldn’t say she was surprised when she was woken up in the very early hours of the next morning to the sound of a barely stifled sneeze muffled from beside her. She stayed silent, waiting to see if Vi was going to move but-

“Hhhih-H’htsISHIEW!”

She hadn’t really managed to stifle that second one.

“Bless you, sweetheart’.” Cait murmured as she rolled over, her arm coming to rest over Vi’s front as she pulled her closer. It was only as she let her head rest on the back of her neck that she noticed just how warm Vi actually was, “Goodness Violet, you’re burning up. Why didn’t you wake me?”

Vi sniffled, an itchy waterlogged sound that revealed she’d more than likely been up suffering with that congestion for a while, “mh’you needed to sleep, you’ve got work in a few hours.” Her voice was painfully hoarse, and it was swiftly followed by an unpleasant sounding cough muffled into her pillow, “Sorry I woke you up with this Cupcake, go~hhih! Hih’itshu! Just try and go back to sleep.”

"Vi, you know I can't just sleep when you're like this," She murmured, her voice laced with worry as she ran her hand through her wife’s pink hair, “You’re never ill. Let me take care of you for a change…please?”

Vi shifted slightly, sniffling again before turning to face Caitlyn, her eyes reflecting gratitude mixed with exhaustion.

"I... I guess I'm still not used to being taken care of," Vi admitted, her voice barely above a whisper, "But if you're sure..." Her breath hitched off, fanning her face with her hand as she fought against the itch.

The officer sighed in sympathy as she eased herself out of bed, reaching for the tissue box sitting on their dresser. She quickly came back to her wife’s side, pressing a fresh tissue into her hand.

“Here, sweetheart,” She soothed her softly, her heart aching at the sight of Vi’s discomfort. “Let it out.”

Hh.. hihh- but I dont -HihhH- need too~”

Violet.”

“HHhh…huhH..Hih’K'tchhh! Hih! Hhh..Hih’shiew! ‘iitshoo! F-fuck.”

The Zaunite needed little encouragement. Hell, they were so desperate, she probably couldn’t have held them back any longer even if she’d wanted too. Even so, each sneeze seemed to drain Vi a little more, leaving her breathless and exhausted.

“S’cuse me Cupcake.” She rasped, sniffling thickly as she apologised.

“Oh darling, this bug’s really doing a number on you isn’t it?” Caitlyn murmured as her hand came to rub circles down Vi’s back, she could feel the uncomfortable dampness clinging to her shirt, the fever had been taking its toll on her.

Vi only mumbled something incoherent in return, rubbing her temples as the dull throbbing in her head intensified.

“Come here sweetheart,” Caitlyn whispered, reaching out to take Vi in her hands, helping her stand up. They only made it a couple of steps before Vi’s breath caught in her throat, her eyes glazing over. She tried to pull out of her hold but Cait held her close, instead letting the shorter woman sneeze helplessly against her shoulder without a second thought. “No, no, don’t worry about that, I’ve got you darling.”

She carefully led her towards their bathroom, making sure she was steady as she set her down on the edge of the bath. The Officer grabbed a towel and ran it under the cold tab, wringing out the excess water before softly draping it over Vi’s flushed skin.

“May I?” Caitlyn gently pulled at the shirt clinging to her wife’s damp skin, waiting for permission before carefully pulling it over her head and tossing it in their laundry basket before turning back to wipe her down.

The cool contact of the towel made her flicker at its first contact, but she soon grew accustomed to the cold, letting the reliving cool sensation roll over her. “That feels really good.” Vi moaned quietly as Cait moved the towel across her body, letting herself be held as she was cleaned up.

Before long, Caitlyn had helped Vi change into a fresh, clean set of pyjamas, making sure they were light and breathable enough for her to be comfortable. It was just as she’d finally began to get settled again, that persistent itch in her sinuses made itself known again. She pawed at her nose, scrunching it up as she tried fight it off.

However Vi’s attempts to stave off the impending sneeze were futile as her nose twitched uncontrollably. With a sudden, forceful duck forwards, she sneezed, the sound muffled slightly by her hand - trying desperately to avoid giving Cait whatever crap she’d come down with.

“hH-EhehtsHIEW!.. hh’KSshhiew!.hHih'tchuu!”

The enforcer whined as the pressure in her sinuses made her head throb in pain. Caitlyn couldn't help but wince sympathetically as she began to search around in their cabinet before finding a small packet of painkillers.

“They’re not much but they should help with the aches and bring that fever down a little.” she murmured, reaching out to gently stroke Vi's hair before pressing out two tablets and handing them to her, “Let me get you some water for these.”

Vi gratefully accepted the water when it was handed to her, taking a small sip as she took the pills. The cool liquid did also have the added effect of also feeling amazing against her raw throat too.

Cait smiled as she wife finished the last of the water, “How about we get you back to bed sweetheart? I bet going back to sleep sounds really good right now, doesn’t it?”

“It does.” Vi nodded, letting herself be taken by the hand out of their bathroom and back to their bed. She sat patiently on the bed whilst Caitlyn went back to the bathroom to bring back the box of tissues, setting them on Vi’s nightstand.

“You not getting back into the bed love?” She asked, noticing how she hadn’t gotten in yet.

“I am… I just-“ Vi sniffled quietly, shyly motioning for Caitlyn to climb into bed first. When she finally got the signal and got in, the officers eyes widened in warm surprise when instead of laying back down on her side, Vi decided to lay on top of her, the top of her head resting just below Cait’s shoulders.

She smiled fondly, her heart swelling at just how clingy her wife was being, “You comfy there sweetheart?” Caitlyn murmured affectionately as she felt Vi’s tired breathing slowly begin to even out. She was too tired to reply by now, her eyes closing on their own - instead she just nodded and snuggled her a little closer.

That was all the confirmation Caitlyn needed. She quickly reached for her phone, sending off a quick text that she wouldn’t be able to make in today. She then pressed a gentle kiss to the top of Vi’s forehead and closed her own eyes, holding her wife close as she wrapped her arms around her whispering, Sleep well baby. I hope you feel better in the morning darling.”

Of these two, for some reason I imagined that it would be Caitlyn who would be the one to get sick :D I like how she gets slightly annoyed with Vi for not letting them out

I hope you will write to Caitlin, that would be great. If you interested in, of course.
