I have certain Asperger’s characteristics (am rather obsessive, have an irrational love of routine, etc.) but not others (for example I love being touched…).

Why do you think there might be a link between sneeze fetishism and Asperger’s?

No, I'm positive they are not.

No, but did go to kindergarten - or equivalent - before that age.

No. My father never sneeze more than a single, ever. My mother can go to ten easily. But I never seem to have noticed this as a child.

Why do you think there might be a link between sneeze fetishism and Asperger’s?

It's just a hunch I came up with after having learned about the early-childhood fixation tendancies of people diagnosed with Asperger's, and just speculating whether the fetish could possibly evolve from being one of those fixated actions. It was also about the time that a thread about Asperger's was popular in the Pit, and it seemed to me that there might be a relatively high proportion of people diagnosed with the condition amoung our members, as compared to what would normally be expected given our numbers.

I hope you will give us your interpretation of the findings.

I'll definitely make an effort to once the thread has died down. Though as krazykat indicated before, I can't promise anything statistically significant - just descriptive .

also, no, not my parents. Although. My Gramma always did make a big fuss. Not like a reaction that I might have, but generally a lot of hubbub. Hahaha. I actually remember getting annoyed at her at one point, which is weird, because I remember having this since forever, and that was just so annoying to me even back then xD (I was very young) I actually got in trouble for making fun of her at one point, because my parents thought i was jumping on the stairs. Well, because I used to run away and hide, because she would make such a big deal about it. so I got annoyed and I was on the stairs away from them, and I was mocking her like "achoo achoo achoo..." annoyedly, and my parents, great minds that they are, thought I was saying "and jump, and jump, and jump..." It's odd, I haven't remembered that in a while. I guess it's cool that they heard me wrong, though, huh?

Yeah, I was babysat by my Gramma all the time, but it mostly involved me sitting and watching my favorite movies and cartoons. Er... I don't have any memory of it until the third house that I lived in, which I believe we moved into when I was about 12. In fact, yeah, I'm pretty sure it started at 11 or 12. I'd get the feeling like I had to "go to the bathroom" when someone would sneeze on TV, especially if it was big.

Yeah, I was, when I was really little (one to two-ish) by a nice woman and her daughter who was just a few years older than me.

I think she'd deny that she did have the fetish and yell at me... *sigh* She can get really embarrassed about little things like this.
