a red nine
Maybe it's because I'm a writer who enjoys inventing characters too much, but I think about names all the time. Some names sound pretty, some don't, and some names even have meanings or stories behind them, but everyone's favorite names are different from someone else's. What have you got in your top five boy's names and top five girl's?Here's mine:Boys1. Luke2. Toby3. Ryan4. Kyle5. EricGirls1. Rachel2. Charlotte3. Hilary4. Lou (Short for Louisa?)5. DianaI tend to like simpler names, I guess. Spelling names strangely, like replacing a 'C' with a 'K', or naming your kid after a noun, like 'Apple' or 'Angel', isn't my taste.So... What about you? Lynne
Hehe I remember when I was eleven or so, I wanted to have ten children - five girls, five boys What a fool I was. Two's enough Boys:Daniel (my ex vetoed this, so I wasn't allowed to name my son Daniel)Owen (no, I'm not an Owen Wilson fan)Matthew (again, vetoed by the ex)Zachary (even though I'm surrounded by Zacharys - it became wayyyyy to popular about a decade or two ago)Nicholas (also vetoed by the ex)Girls:Sarah (I've always wanted to have a girl named Sarah)Rachel (one of my female friends is named Rachel, and I've always loved it)Tammah (my ex-best friend... intensely dislike the person the name is attached to, but the name is beautiful - can't remember what it means in Hebrew, but it does mean something)Emily (Anne is a close tie with this one, for obvious reasons - I'm Canadian and I'm a girl - I was forcefed Anne of Green Gables and Emily of New Moon at an early age)Summer, Skye and Sierra are all tied for my final favorite. I actually know little girls with each of these names, and their names suit them perfectly Link to comment
