anyone knows why when i click on some of the twitch vids links, it says  " the requested VOD is unavailable."

Unfortunately that usually means it’s expired. Twitch only keeps the VODs for ~3 months so you need to clip any spectacular finds

The easiest way I've found is with the Rechat tool, although I don't remember where to find the source code. You can download chat logs for streams as long as you have the video ID.

There is another new one here, but I couldn't figure out how to clip it.  When I download the VOD the audio is way out of sync.  I guess somebody could screen record it...

It's pretty easy - you can follow the instructions listed in the like I provided above. After you download it, when you have Rechat open you just need the video ID (ten numbers at the end of the twitch hyperlink). For example, in Rechat the input text will look like "RechatTool  -D 111111111

The tool will then download all of the chat in the video as a text document. Then just search the text document for keywords. The chat is correlated to timestamps on the video.

That I don't know. I doubt it with this source code, but that doesn't mean there isn't a chat log program out there made for iphones
