ahh so okay... I got hella distracted - by school, work, and mostly the new animal crossing update - and forgot about this for a bit... yall still interested?

heres a bit of fun.

Apologies for shit writing and short length, I'll be in touch.

“Hi, L! No cologne this time, I promise.” Jonah held his hands up in surrender before I even entered his apartment. “But, I apologize in advance. I did tell you that I liked your sneezes, right?”

“Jonah…” I warn. I had already been pretty sneezy today, I wanted to come chill with Jonah to blow off some steam, not to sneeze more.

“I know! I know! I picked some really nice flowers just for you, they’re in the spare room. If you don’t want to, I won’t even open the door. They’ll just stay there.” He said. I sighed. I didn’t want to disappoint him, but I really wasn’t in the mood. It wasn’t like he made me sneeze all the time or anything, I just hated how he looked at me after I did it. He didn’t offer me tissues, or even ask if I was okay with any sense of urgency. No, Jonah would just watch me suffer like I was some porn-star, there for his pleasure only. He really liked when I suffered in his apartment, or a private place where only he could see. I think he was, like, overprotective of the one person he could induce.

I refused. I wasn’t in the mood for more sneezing. We laid on the couch to watch the office and eat M&M’s together. It was really sweet. I enjoyed him when he wasn’t being a fetish-y creep to me.

About 4 episodes in, and with probably 2 sneezes from me, Jamie excused himself to use the bathroom. My nose had been tickling all night, but I should’ve been okay since I was inside. I glanced over at the windows. The prick had left them open. No wonder I couldn’t get the tickle out of my nose.

I heard a creak from across the apartment. It wasn’t a large apartment, so I should’ve seen Jonah coming out of the restroom if he was.

“Jonah?” I ask, tentatively. A door is open, but it’s not the door to the restroom where Jonah was. A soft breeze blew, forcing the door open further. The itch in my nose intensified. It felt as if there were tiny hands, massaging all the sensitive membranes of my nostrils. I knew what door had just opened. “Oh shit.”

“What is it, Eliza?” Jonah wandered out of the bathroom, the towel still in his hands. I couldn’t decide whether I wanted him to see me like this so that I could please him, or if I wanted to just leave and never come back. “Y-you okay?”

I was hitching, sniffling, the whole nine yards. The itch was right there at the tip of my nose, teasing me, yet not giving me the satisfaction of sneezy release. I knew what needed to happen.

———

“Ewww skip this part!” Oliver shouted, bolting upright. “I don’t want to hear this.”

“You asked for all of it, you get all of it, Oli.” I deadpan.

“Fine, but skimp out on the details, please.” He rests his head against my shoulder. It takes everything in me not to let out an excited giggle.

——-

“O-Okay, um, I’m not sure how much you want me to do.” Jonah was red in the face, and squirming with excitement, but trying his hardest to hide it out of respect. He was trying to be kind since I was in so much discomfort, but I could tell he had wanted to do this for a while.

“Ju-HUH-hhuhhhh juh- HUh-huH- HUHSt stihh-HIh Hiiih HICK it UUhPPpp!” I breathe. It takes him a second to gain control of his shaking hand before he adjusts his grip on the spindly, purple wildflower and thrusts it up my nose. I can feel my whole body shiver and do a double-take as all I’m breathing is allergens.

“Huh- HAH- HIHHHH HAH-HHAAH’TCHIEW! … HAH’TCHIEW! … HAH’TCHIEW! HHAHCHiEW! …JAAHAHT’CHAAAHH!! … NAAAHHIH’TCHiEW! HEH’TCHIEEW! …  TAHHH’KECHIEW! …  ITTCHIEW!! … OUTTT’CHIEW!!!” I desperately tried to speak while I sneezed, but I don’t think he heard or understood me. Jonah was too busy enjoying the fit taking place in front of him to hear that I was clearly suffering. “HAH’TCHIEW!!… HAH’TCHIEW HAH’TCHIEW!… …  HAH’TCHIEW!… HAH’TCHIEW!”

I continued sneezing until Jonah came to his senses and pulled the flower out of my nose. He tried to apologize, but it took me a solid 10 minutes to calm down from the fit. That was my first huge fit, and it was induced by my fetishist ex.

“L, I am so, so, so, sorry. I got so caught up, you know, I kind of forgot about the… you know… I’m sorry. It won’t happen again!” Jonah apologized profusely, once I was able to speak without having a sneezing fit.

“Jahih Jonah, just drop it.” I said, sniffling thickly, my head starting to hurt a little from the sheer force of sneezing. “CaaAH’TCHIEW! cah-n you drive me home? I’m tired.” His face falls.

“You can sleep here, if you want? I can take you home in the morning?” He practically begged. I held up my hand.

“No, my… Hah’TCHIeWW! my keys are in my bag in your room, please just drive me home sooohuh- I can rest.” I said. He gave in and trudged to his room to get my bag.

“Let’s go, L.”

“Elizaaah works just fine.” I corrected him, suddenly feeling really tired and annoyed with him.

“You told me to put it in!” He argued when we reached my car.

“I ju-huhst meant for you to help me, and I definitely didn’t tell you to jerk aaahHI’TCHiew! off while I was having an allergy attack. That was totally uncalled forrrAH’techiew!.” I sigh. He blushes as he ducks into the driver’s seat.

“There’s no way I can convince you to stay at my house?”

“No.” I reply, crossing my arms, my eyes focused on the road in front of me.

———

“And that was the last time I ever spent time with Jamie. I’ve seen him in passing now and again on campus, but he just blushes and looks away. I can’t tell if he’s embarrassed or if he’s just a creep.” I finish, exhausted. Oliver is looking up at me, his expression unreadable.

“Wow.” He says simply after a minute. I look over at him. He looks dejected.

“What?”

“I have another question.” He says shyly. I sigh.

“Ask away.” I say, earning me a huge smile, almost as big as his smile at the zoo.

“Really?” Then his face contorts into a smirk. “You’re not going to blackmail me with this are you?”

“Maybe.” I chuckle. “What’s the question, dummy?”

“It’s kind of dumb, but,” Oliver pauses, debating whether to ask it. His voice drops low, like he’s nervous I’ll break, “if I ever had to help you like Jonah did, would you leave me?”

It takes everything in me not to laugh, cry, or even just hug him on the spot. I don’t even need a second to think on this one. “No, I wouldn’t. As far as I know, you actually care about me. Jonah just wanted to get me sneezing so he could cream his little cargo shorts. I don’t think your baby Oli goes wild when you hear me sneeze, now does it?”

“Unsure, let’s test.” Oliver teases. I grimace, but chuckle. “Sorry, sorry! Not funny! I know!”

“I’ll pass!” I say in objection. I smile happily as I think of my question. “And it’s my turn for a question.”

“Shoot.”

“Will you come pick me up for lunch in between some classes more regularly? It would look good for our fake relationship.” I say, biting back a blush. As much as it is for our fake relationship, it’s also a bit indulgent for me. I want to spend more time with him.

“Of course! Anything for you, my fake princess.” He pecks me on the nose, making that annoying tingle in my nose come back.

gahh i love them so much... alright bye its time for me to play hella animal crossing

So cute! I can’t wait to read more

thank you thank you thank you!!

here’s the next part. It’s relatively short, but uhhh I hope you like it… ;)

“Hey, darling.” Oliver greets me with a charming smile as I slide into the passenger seat of his car on wednesday afternoon. We’re going to get takeout and eat in his car; how romantic. “You’re not allergic to any foods, right?”

“No, speaking of, here’s that list you asked for.” I say, passing him a piece of paper with my chicken scratch on it. He squints at it through his glasses.

“Yeah I’m gonna need this printed, bug.” He says, handing it back to me with a sniff. I knit my eyebrows together.

“I’m not printing my allergens at the school computer lab.” I say, wiping my leaking nose. “I’ll give you this and a verbal list, the best I can do.”

“Alright, hit me.” Oliver says, clicking a pen he pulled from the center console. I sigh.

“Pollen, hay, a little dust, some perfumes, sometimes cats and dogs.” I list off. “Not that many, If I’m being honest. They’re all respiratory, no food allergies for me. And no asthma either.” I knock on the car door out of a superstitious habit. My list was a bit understated, but it had everything on there.

“Alright, I’ll keep this somewhere safe.” Oliver folds it and shoves it in his pocket.

“What’s up with the pet names?” I ask. He shifts to face me.

“Well, we’re trying to make this realistic, right? I’m just doing my part here to make this as real as possible.” He shoots me a charismatic smile. I will the butterflies in my stomach to be quiet as we start onto the road. “You know, you could put in a little more effort, seeing as this was your idea.”

I blush and look out the window. This was my idea, It seems only right that I’m the one who’s more invested in it.  “Okay, I’ll try harder,” I pause, “sweet pea.”

I swear I see his face flush pink for a second, but it could’ve just been the lighting.

——

After a really delicious takeout lunch in Oliver’s car, we head to our shared 4 o’clock lecture; biology. After using it as my question, I had finally convinced Oliver to come along with me regularly; but he refused to bring a notebook and pen with him. He didn’t even bring his laptop.

“How the hell are you supposed to take notes if you don’t have anything to tahhihh take notes with?” I ask him. I’m a little pissed at that hitch. There’s something up in this room. My nose has a deep, guttural itch. not quite enough to sneeze, but enough to impair my speaking. I guess it’s a good thing this is a lecture.

“I take mental notes!” He retorts, sticking his nose up in the air and looking away from me in an almost comical way. I glance around the room for the culprit. Nothing that I can see. The windows appear to be closed. I can’t smell any perfume. The cabinets look clean. Unless somebody snuck a pet into class, I have no reason to be so itchy. I rub my eyes, causing the tears that were previously contained to spill over.

“Shit.” I whisper, trying furiously to wipe away the tears, but only causing more. I’m about to dig for my tissues when a clean hand intercepts and grabs them for me.

“Here.” An uncharacteristically husky whisper meets my ears. I look up to meet Oliver’s blurry face. I smile through allergic tears; graciously taking the tissues from his hands.

I make it through the lecture with no sneezes, just tons of tears, sniffles, and hitching. I look like a mess. Like “my date dumped me on the first night of the bachelor” mess.

“You aren’t looking so hot, Liz.” Oliver gives a small cough, putting an arm around my waist. I chuckle half-heartedly.

“Gee, Thaaaaahahnks Oli, What a suhuhhh supportive boyfriend you are!” I tease. He doesn’t laugh, though.

“No, really. I’m taking you to my place. I’m pretty sure you’re getting sick.” He says in a serious tone as he steers me towards the exit.

“No way, I’m just having a reehhhah reaction to something in the building.” I say. “There’s only a weheehhh week left. I can’t get sick now. Besides, I get coughing colds, not snehheehh- Fuck! sneezing ones.” I ramble. Oliver just smiles.

“Yeah, yeah. Get in the car.”

——-

“Okay fine, you were right, you weren’t sick.” Oliver says with a sniff, looking at the thermometer in his hand. I sit up from where I had been laid down on his bed.

“I told you I wasn’t sick! I probably just have a tiny allergy to their cleaner or something.” I say, tossing my arms up in defense. Oliver chuckles, turning around to put my thermometer back in the cabinet. Right as he’s about to put it in its place, he freezes.

“Hah’sHh!” Oliver had doubled over for a harsh, wet, sneeze.

I stare in amazement. I had never seen Oliver sneeze before. In the 3 weeks I knew him, he had never sneezed. I’m no Jonah, but his sneeze was… kinda cute. It suited him in a weird way. I liked the way it sounded. It was kind of feminine, but had a roughness to it which balanced out his naturally smooth voice.

“Are you okay?” I ask. He shrugs it off, giving a weak sniffle.

“Just one sneeze.” Oliver says. “Guess my nose wanted in on the action.”

“Maybe you’re sick!”

“No way.”

“Yes way!”

“Hah’shuH!”

teehee… evil oliver be like “yes I’m sick

Loved this update! Oliver being sick is going to be interesting!

thanks!! i will admit I go back and read the parts where he’s sick a lot because he’s super adorable imo

okay um i have a question for y’all. Would you rather I edited and mass uploaded the chapters I have written (I have… at least 15 of them, probably more)? or would you rather I keep updating like this, spaced out a few days at a time?

I know personally I like reading a finished story, but I really love all the interaction… a tad selfish of me lol… anyways just lmk!

here’s the next bit… sick oli ❤️

6 days until the reunion and Oliver is stuck in bed with a cold. And a pretty sneezy one at that. It seems every 20 minutes he releases a hitching string of sneezes that sound torturously itchy. And when he’s not sneezing, he’s sniffling like crazy. I had stayed with him the whole time, making sure he was drinking enough water, eating, and continuing to function as he should.

“HAh’shgnT! Heeh’ShhGnt!” Oliver stifles wetly into a tissue before blowing his nose. “Kobe!” He says through congestion as he dunks his tissue into the trash can.

“Let me check your temp.” I say, reaching for the thermometer that was resting on the counter. He obediently opened his mouth to put the instrument under his tongue.

“Cold!” He complained, before I set my finger against his lips. Oliver went cross-eyed trying to look at my finger, before looking up at me with wide eyes. When the thermometer beeped to signal its completion, I accidentally tapped his nose as I went to pull it out of his mouth. Oliver’s face began to contort, his hand coming up to scrub at his scrunching, sniffling nose.

“Hiiiiiih… huhhhh…” Oliver’s eyes rolled back, his mouth slack. “Hih’ETcshNGt! HEH’ETschh!”

“Bless you, sorry.” I said, trying not to giggle at how cute his pre-sneeze face was. “I’m going to make you some soup. What kind do you like?”

“You cad cook?” He asks, through thick congestion. I smile back at him.

“Yes, I ‘cad’ cook. Now what kind of soup do you want?”

“Uhhh I dote like soup.” He says sheepishly, his cheeks matching the shade of his nose. I laugh, probably a little too much. “Hey! Dote laugh ad me!”

“Sorry! I’ve never met someone who doesn’t like soup! It’s like the number one comfort food when you’re sick!” I say enthusiastically. He ducks his head down. “I’ll make you chicken noodle, it’s my favorite. If you don’t like it I’ll just find something else. Okay?”

“Okay.” He agrees, blowing his nose thickly before laying back down, looking like a deflated balloon.

“I’ll be back, I have to go shopping.” I say, grabbing my keys and bag from the desk. “Take a nap or something, okay?”

“Yeah, yeah, Okay Mob.” He says jokingly, flashing me a smile. I chuckle as I close the door behind me. I really hope he isn’t pushing himself too hard for me. As soon as the door closes behind me I hear a muffled string of unstifed sneezes, followed by a torturous coughing fit. I sigh, but continue out to my car to head to the drugstore.

———

“HAH’sh! HAH’sh! HAHIH’SHUh! HAHEH’sHUh!”

I hesitate before I knock on the door. Another string of sneezes and a coughing fit. I don’t have keys to his dorm, so Oliver will have to get up to let me in. As he opens the door I take in his frame.

He seems to have deteriorated within the 30 minutes I was gone. His eyes are glazed over, his skin is pale. He seems to be holding himself up with the walls. His nose is red-rimmed and running profusely, and it’s obvious he’s holding in a cough through his smile.

“You don’t look so hot, Oli.” I say, stepping past him to set my bags down in his kitchenette. He chuckles, lungs rattling. I sigh and move over to him. “Let’s get you to bed.”

He fights against my touch, pushing away. “I want to watch-“ Oliver starts to cough, looking as if he might fall over. God he needs to lay down.

“No, go lay down.” I’m trying my hardest to support him and steer him towards the bed, but I know I’m asking a lot of his body. I can feel the wheezing as he leans into me for support.

“But I want to watch how you ma-hih’TIhSHuh!” Oliver sneezes freely onto my back. “Make soup.” He’s giving me puppy dog eyes as I sit him down on the bed. Staring into his glassy eyes, I can’t help but frown.

“God, you look worse than before. Did you take any meds?” I ask. He looks to the ground, sniffling.

“I can’t remember.”

“Fuck, Oliver.” I say, not able to hide my worry. “Just sleep, okay?” He hesitantly lays down, still looking up at me sitting at the end of the bed expectantly.

“Eliza?” Oliver’s usually smooth voice is now hoarse and laced with congestion. His hands reach out for mine. I’m tempted to stop googling ‘what to do when someone is sick and they can’t remember if they took meds or not’ and just hold him for a while, but I’m so worried I can barely see straight.

“No, sleep.” He’s in another coughing spell, snapping his torso up from supine to sitting in a painful way. “Fuck, fuck, fuck, I need to give you something. I just don’t know what. Give me one second, okay?”

“Ndo, Eliza?” This time his request is punctuated by a sniffle and his hand interlacing with mine. I turn towards him with a questioning look. “Cad I have sob soup?” He tries to give me those puppy-dog eyes, but instead is pulled into a flurry of small sneezes that unfortunately land right on my hands. I struggle to hold back my laughter.

“Yes, Oli, you can have some soup.”

the next chapter is…. so fun. one of my faves. My worst written imo, but the best content-wise. See y’all in a few days (probably more because / have I mentioned that I’m very excited about acnh? /s … yeah that’s gonna take a lot of my time…

okay bye

Oh my gosh my heart cannot handle these two!

as for your question, I love these smaller spread out updates, they’re nice little surprises, but I’m greedy and cannot get enough of this, so either work for me personally. I know that’s not too helpful lmao

I don’t mind it in parts! Whatever you feel is appropriate for you and your story, is fine with me!

Okay, I'm probably going to keep doing parts, just so I can continue editing and having free time. I'll try to be more consistent with it, but college is kicking my ass (and also i've been playing too man video games lol)

Anyways, heres a shitty part in which the writing sucks, but I promise the concept is good.

“Hey, Eliza!” Oliver greeted me, standing against his car outside my class.

“HiH’Tchiew!!” I replied, a tissue against my nose.

“Bless you. We can take a rain check if you need?” He offered, opening the door for me.

“Nohuhhhh no.” I hitched. “It’s just that bush.” I pointed over towards the building. Oliver followed my gesture over to a flowering bush that was actually quite beautiful.

“If you’re sure, then let’s go. You want to pick some music?” He offers. I smile and plug my phone into his aux cord. I scroll through my playlists until I find one that I think he’d like. “I never pinned you for a Fleetwood Mac kinda gal.” He says candidly.

“My- HiH’NxgNt’ch parents used to listen to it all the time. It’s nostalgic!” I say with a laugh. He smiles, and I swear his cheeks flushed pink for a moment. His eyes stay stuck on the road as we merge onto the freeway. “What do you listen to?”

“Ah, you know. A bit of everything.” He says with a sigh, watching his rear view mirror.

“Cop-out of the century!” I accuse. He finally looks over at me with a fake offended look. There’s the Oliver I know.

“Now that’s not very peace and love of you, little hippie.” He says with a laugh. I scoff.

“Are you stereotyping me now?” Oliver just laughs. ‘the Greenies’ come on next; I move to skip songs as I’ve heard this one way too many times, but Oliver interrupted me.

“Now here’s what I was raised on.” He says seriously.

“Your parents had good taste.” I say. He nods. I watch as he mouths the words to their hit song ‘Touch m3’ while he drives down the interstate. I stifle a laugh and queue up the rest of their discography, just so I can make him happy.

————

“Okay, so please tell me if this is way too far for a date,” Oliver leads. He sounds nervous, like any criticism would cause him to crumble. “But I thought, since my, uh, parents were out of town, we could go chill at their place?”

“Oh!-“ I start, but he interrupts me; I don’t think he even heard me start speaking.

“Holy fuck, not like ‘chill’ chill, just hang out, like friends do.” He says, his face going a deep red with embarrassment.

“Of course!” I say, trying to quell his worries. “No funny business. Just a fake girlfriend and a fake boyfriend on a fake date! Nothing weird.” I say with a laugh. He forces a laugh in response. Did I say something wrong?

“Let’s head inside. There’s a pool, I did tell you to pack a suit, right?” I stare at him, dumbfounded.

“No, you did not.” I say. He rubs the back of his neck, blushing.

“Whoops! Must’ve slipped my mind.” He says, opening the door for us. “Worry not! My sister probably left some of her old suits in her bedroom, you can borrow one for the night.”

The house is stunning. Dark wood floors cover the entirety of the house, only being broken up by shag rugs under the feet of the couches that are covered head to toe in throw pillows and blankets. The kitchen is beautiful, presumably stock full of all the most delicious foods. There’s a modest staircase leading up to a hallway with many doors. They all lead into bedrooms, each with their own personality portrayed through the decor.

“This one was yours?” I ask, looking at the posters on the wall.

“Well, yes and no.” Oliver responds. When he’s greeted with my confused look, he continues with, “it’s complicated.”

I don’t press for more information, but I begin planning a question about it for later.

“Here’s my sister’s room. All her suits are going to be in this drawer. Wear what you want. I’ll be in the kitchen.” He says, quietly closing the door behind him.

I look around, spotting a photo wall. The girl who keeps appearing in all these photos looks nothing like Oliver; I decide it must be his sister's friend before I step away from the photos and to the closet. All her suits are bikinis. It’s not like I hate my body or anything, I’ve just never worn one in front of a boy; much less a boy as attractive as Oliver.

I slip on a red and white striped bikini on, admiring how it contrasts my dark hair. I spend a second looking in the mirror before I open the door and descend into the kitchen.

“Hey, you ready?” I ask, looking at Oliver. God he looks hot. He’s in black swim trunks; his abs fully visible. I try not to stare. He, on the other hand, is being a bit less discreet.

“Oh, uh, yeah. Let’s go.” He says, not able to meet my eyes. I hold back a laugh, as we walk towards the back door and onto the porch. The pool is glowing under the moonlight. It looked like there was steam coming off of the water, but it must just be the light.

“I wonder if the water’s cold,” I mused, looking out into the bushes. My nose began to tickle slightly. I pressed a knuckle up to it, in an attempt to quell the itch. His mom probably had an orchid or something back here. “Is your mom a gardener?”

“No?” He responded, coming up behind me. I reveled in the heat radiating from his body. It felt nice. It was a touch cold for a swim, but I was always a bit too kind to say no when people suggested things.

“Hmm.” I responded. I could feel his muscles tense behind me.

“You want to test the water out, Liz?” He asked. I could just barely make out the smirk on his lips, not having time to respond before we were both submerged in the water. When I surfaced again, I shot him a look. “What?”

“It’s cold!” I said, pressing my knuckle back against my nose, the tickle intensifying. This only made it worse.

“Well it is only May!” He said with a laugh. I smile through my hand. “Is your nose bothering you?”

“How can you tell?” I say, quickly pulling my hand away from my face. I hate when people can tell that I’m going to sneeze.

“Your hand is against your nose, your breathing is erratic, and your nose is quite literally twitching.” He lists. “There aren’t any flowers out here, and my parents don’t own any animals.”

“It’s fine, don’t worry your pretty little head about i-hih-it.” I say, my breath catching on the last word. He gives a worried smile and dunks his head under water to slick his hair back. I stifle a silent sneeze into my shoulder before he surfaces, which does nothing to quell the ever-burning itch. He shakes his hair out like a wet dog, and I laugh.

“You just undid a-huh-all your work!” I say with an air of false exasperation.

“Ugh, you’re right. Let me try again.” Oliver repeats the same motions; dunking his head under, then surfacing and shaking his hair out like a dog. “Sorry, Liz. This is how it goes!”

All I can do is smile. I can feel my nose twitching now. If I speak I’m going to lose control.

“Eliza,” He puts his hand on my shoulder, “you can let it out, you know, I don’t care.”

“Th-hah-anks Oli-HihhhIT’SchiUew! Thanks Oliver.” I say, preparing for the onslaught of sneezes that are coming. But they never do.

We sit in the pool, with me letting out wet singles every few minutes or so. Oliver and I deduce that a neighbor has some animal or garden going which is making me itch. After an hour of swimming and sneezing, we call it a night.

“Oliver!” I yell from the shower, my brain finally connecting the pieces of the puzzle. “I solved it!”

“What?” He’s outside the bathroom door. His tired tone makes my heart ache.

“I found out what was making me sneeze.” I say, shutting the water off. I step out and begin to dry off. I hear him sneeze and cough behind the door. “You okay?”

“Yeah, yeah, I’m fine. What did you figure out?” He waves it off.

“Well, I think it was the pool chlorine.” I say, opening the door. His face goes red.

“HAH’tshH!” He snaps his neck to the side in an attempt to stifle his sneeze.

“Seriously, are you okay?”

“I’m fine! You said chlorine?” Oliver repeats. I nod before he lets out an exasperated sigh. “Godddamnit can we go on one date that doesn’t include you being allergic to something? What an awful boyfriend I am-” He’s succumbed to another coughing spell before he can continue

“Oli, go lay down.” I order. “I’m getting you NyQuil. No more faking well in front of me. You’ve heard me sneeze about 100 times, I can hear you sneeze once. Get the fuck over it.” I say a bit too aggressively. He ducks his head down sheepishly.

“Sorry, Miss Eliza.” He mumbles. I stifle a laugh, but walk out to get him medication. “Heh’shh! HAH’Ngt! HAH’NGxT! HEH! HEH’TSH!” I hear him sneeze through the wall, followed by more coughing. Damn. This boy cannot catch a break.

“Here, take this. And stop holding them in, you sound like you have asthma.” I hand him a glass of water and two pills. Oliver obediently swallows the pills with a sniffle. “I’m going to bed, if you need anything, text me.”

“Where are you sleeping?” Oliver asks. I look back at him, he looks all defeated again.

“On the couch. There’s enough blankets for 20 people.” I joke. He doesn’t laugh.

“Will you-“ His voice breaks, getting progressively quieter as he continues to speak. “Do you maybe want to sleep in here with me?”

I cannot believe you left us on that cliffhanger…but I do have to say: I love it!! A wonderful update as always!

ehehehehe I;m glad you all liked that cliffhanger hehe.

heres a tiny tiny update, just a bit of filler/fluff before we get to the PRE-EVENT parts!!! very exciting!!

Sun spills through the curtains the next morning. 4 days until D-Day. I wake up with OIiver breathing his warm breath down my back in a calming pattern. He was obviously delirious from his cold last night, and it was irresponsible of me to come and sleep in the same bed as him because of that, but he looked so darn cute when he asked, I couldn’t say no. I rolled over to see Oliver’s face.

His nose was tinged red, a bit of clear fluid dripping from it. His dark eyebrows were disheveled, along with his dark hair. His eyelashes fluttered up and down with each breath, like he could wake up at any moment. He was snoring lightly, from congestion. It was cute, but I was most definitely going to poke fun at it later when he was awake.

“Like what you see?” Oliver said in a husky tone. A blue eye peeking out at me from under his eyelashes.

“You could use a tissue.” I joked, reaching behind me to grab the box I had strategically placed last night. He blushed red and hastily grabbed the paper from me, turning to blow his nose into it.

“Sorry.” He said after he was done, pushing his face into the pillow shyly. I smiled warmly at him.

“Hey, I didn’t say I didn’t like it, now did I?” I said, making him look up at me with those puppy-dog eyes.

“You’re the best fake girlfriend anyone could ask for.” He said, draping one arm over me in a pseudo-hug. I didn’t know words any truer could sting so hard. It’s true, I was only his fake girlfriend, but what I felt for him was anything but.

“Hey Oliver?”

“Yeah, Liz?” He looked so cute. He brought his face up from the pillow and sniffed dryly.

“Never mind.”

——-

“So you said last night that you thought you were allergic to chlorine?” Oliver said, turning the radio down. I looked at the offending hand with disappointment.

“Yeah, I only sneezed when we were in the pool. It makes sense.” I said. He furrowed his brow. “What?”

“I’ve just never heard of someone sneezing from an allergy to chlorine.” His eyes were focused on the road as we switched lanes.

“I’m looking it up right now.” I said, pulling out my phone. I type and scroll for a few seconds. “Okay, I’m not actually allergic to it, it just makes me sneeze.”

“So I should add it to the list, though, right?” He said, glancing over at me, concerned.

“You don’t have to. You saw what I did last night. It wasn’t so bad. Just a few sneezes, then we shower and it’s like it never happened. I’m more worried about that cold of yours.” I say, changing the subject. I’m not too fond of the idea of Oliver keeping a document of all of my allergies, and I'm not quite sure why I even agreed to give him that.

“I’m all good.” He said simply. I sighed.

“That’s what you said yesterday, then I come out of the shower and you're sneezing and coughing up a storm.” I said, recounting the events of last night. He blushes lightly. “You don’t have to be ashamed, colds are normal.”

“Thanks.” He said shyly. “Almost back to campus. You want me to drop you at your dorm?”

I was thinking I was going to get to spend more time with Oliver, but I guess I’m going to have to study instead. I have a lot to catch up on, so it’s no biggie, but I feel kind of sad that he doesn’t want to hang out with me.

“Yeah. That’s fine.” I say, staring out the window at the trees as they whir past the window.

———

Back in my dorm, I’m trying so hard to focus on my studies, but I can’t get the events of last night out of my head. Oliver being adorable. Oliver being spontaneous. Oliver trying his hardest not to let his cold show, then being betrayed by his own body. God it was all so hot, even how he got sick was hot and I didn’t even think that was possible.

I drafted about a hundred texts to Oliver, all along the lines of “Hey! Let’s go on a real date sometime, you looked really hot this morning.” But I never got the courage to send it. Instead I just powered through this mental block and studied Chemistry.

hehe enjoy the lil filler bit before I get to the rest. I have to do some MAJOR editing, in the next parts. They're important and need some adjustments

okay okay bye now enjoy
