High on Lullabies

All the young dudes by Mott the Hoople, remember it well :D Can't remember the singers name but I know he went on to have a big solo career.

Another easy one, more up to date, from a fun Yorkshire band:

"oh - watching the people get lairy,

not very pretty I tell thee,

and walking through town is quite scary,

and not very sensible either."

Mott The Hoople's lead singer was called Ian Hunter

and All The Young Dudes was written by David Bowie (I think)

;)

Aww, man. I remember how much I used to love this song. Are they even still around?

I Predict A Riot - Kaiser Chiefs.

"I think I'm drowning;

Asphyxiated.

I wanna break this spell

that you've created.

You're something beautiful;

A contradiction.

I wanna play the game

I want the friction."

Time Is Running Out, by Muse.

Next up:

Stopped into a church

I passed along the way

Well, I got down on my knees

and I began to pray.

You know the preacher likes the old

he knows I'm gonna stay...

OMG finally one I know...'California Dreaming' (on such a winter's day) :D (By The Mamas and the Papas).

Ok here's mine:

"The way you used to touch me felt so fine,

We kept our hearts together down the line,

A moment in the soul can last forever,

Comfort and keep us,

Help me bring the feeling back again."

Ok I guess everyone is stuck on this one, lol...so here's a few more lyrics for you:

"Remember when we held on in the rain,

The night we almost lost it,

Once again...we can take the night into tomorrow,

Living on feelings,

Touching you I feel it all again..."

The song is by a very famous American solo singer, and was featured on her second album which was released in 1987.

'Missing' by Everything But The Girl

And continuing our 90's pop theme:

All we have to do now

is take these lies

and make them true somehow.

All we have to see

is that I don't belong to you

and you don't belong to me.

Alright! >:D

"Last summer we took threes across the board;

but by far we were a cover story "now in stores"

Make us poster boys for your scene, but we are not making an acceptance speech"

Oh man, I finally got one. :D

This should be a pretty obvious one:

Acting funny and I don't know why.

Excuse me while I kiss the sky.

"It was the blackest night

There was no moon in sight

And there was no reflection

'Cause the sky's too tight

I heard a scary wind

I seen some ugly trees

There was a werewolf pouncin'

On the side of me!

Even the mountains is actin' weird up here

So I think I might just drink a little beer...."

The Runaways, "Dead End Justice".

Way down the street there's a light in his place

He opens the door, he's got that look on his face

and he asks you where you've been,

you tell him what you've seen

and you talk about anything

This one should be easy :(

Baker Street by Gerry Rafferty?? If it is, damn I havent heard that in awhile!

This should be so easy it'll make you sneeze :lmao::

I'm a wild and an untamed thing

I'm a bee with a deadly sting

You get a hit and your mind goes ping

Your heart'll thump and your blood will sing

So let the party and the sounds rock on

We're gonna shake it 'til the life has gone

Rose tint my world, keep me safe from my trouble and pain

And, of course, I am the one to answer.

It's "Wild and Untamed Thing" from The Rocky Horror (Picture) Show soundtrack, written by no one else but Richard O'Brien.

And what abooouuuut:

"Chimes- oh God, you're looking old.

You'll freeze and catch a cold

'Cause you've left your coat behind-

Take your time..."

For some COMPLETELY UNKNOWN reason, I have always loved that lines.

Blues Brothers' "Soul man"?

"Oooh- night is callin'

And it whispers to me softly:

'Come and play'

Oooh- I am falling

And if I let myself go

I'm the only one to blame"
