Misreading things

So, I haven't slept at all tonight, which apparently has taken a toll on my mind. Either that, or I'm just distracted as usual. I was browsing a website and read the words:

"FAN ART".

My mind translated this to

"MAN FART".

So, anyone else misread things and want to share?

Oh, I have misread a great many things.

Just the other day, I misread "Elven Revolt" as "Eleanor Roosevelt."

That was interesting...

And a few years ago, I misread "Photography" as "Pornography."

That was slightly more interesting...

Hahaha...my boyfriend is replaying Final Fantasy 4. There are these two characters who are mages, and they're also twins, and they can do something called "twincast" (twins casting magic together). Except he keeps reading it as "twincest" (incest involving twins, for those who don't know).

I misread stuff and mishear stuff all the time. Several years ago there was this DS game called Horsez (with horses on the cover, of course) and I misread it as HotSex.

Well, this is actual a mishear...but in the Bon Jovi song Livin' On A Prayer, there's the line, "It doesn't make a difference if we make it or not." For YEARS, I thought the line was "It doesn't make a difference if we're naked or not."

Somewhat different meaning there...

My friend was reading some Biore cleanser bottle and she read "pore refining cleanser as "whore refining cleanser." We had fun with that one for a while! :laughingsmiley:

Across the street from where I work, there is a pizza place. Under their name, it says: Wood Fired Pizza. Every so often, I read it as Wood Fried Pizza. Not quite the same.

There's a thread in the blogs at the moment and it's called Post-Easter. I've already read it but for some reason despite that, every time I open the blogs I read Post-Eater ... and wonder what on earth someone has said about that.

This is going to sound so silly... but I was listening to a Christmas song and not listening too well....

The line was "He's got a sleigh full, it's not going to stay full"... I heard "He's got a sniffle, he's not going to stifle"... wondered why the hell that would be sung in a Christmas song, listened again and could just about distinguish the words as they should be.:D

That may be one of the best Mama Appelsaps I've ever heard. XD

In the "How Tall Are You?" thread, AnonyMouse gave her height in imperial units but not metric and said "I'm currently too lazy to do the math".

I read it as "I'm currently too lazy to do meth" and was quite concerned, as well as confused as to how that was relevant.

Never heard of a Mama Appelsap before - am I right to assume it's the same as a Mondegreen?

In Croydon where I work, there is an underpass taking the main road beneath the town centre. On the road they have painted U PASS in the lane that leads to it, which I have frequently misread as UP ASS :laugh:

Obama's address was great.

But so as to not get totally off topic and threadjack;

I was out at a bar the other night and they had a baseball game playing on their tvs, which I was only have paying attention to to begin with because I'm not very into baseball, but in my half paying attention I misread "Pitch zone" as "Bitch zone". Which I feel would actually a useful warning sign in some places.
