I think zack should get sick but not say anything about it because he does want to be a bother be his roommates eventually find out.

This will be a small story composed of perhaps 3 parts. Hope I did this correctly and that you like it! biggrin.png

Zack's Cold

Part one

It was a Saturday morning in England, Nick was up and playing video games on his bed, Allen was lifting weights in the garage and Zack was sleeping on his bed. It was a round 10:34am when his door was opened and Nick made his way in.

“Are ya still sleepin'? I know ya like your beauty rest, but ya gotta get up dude.” Nick walked over to Zack's side and pushed his shoulder, earning him a tired moan.

“Give me a minute...I'm tired...” Zack groaned and rolled over. He hadn't been feeling the greatest over the past two days and all he wanted to do was sleep. His head hurt the first day, followed by a sore throat and stuffy nose. He managed to keep it hidden from his housemates and planned on keeping it that way. Nick sighed and crossed his arms.

“Alright, I’ll make ya some breakfast then.” He left the room and closed his door. Zack waited a few seconds to hear Nick's footsteps walk away before coughing harshly into his pillow and wincing at the pain. He sniffled a few times and pushed his body up and to the side of his bed to strap his eye patch on. A slight itch entered his nose and he hovered his hand over his mouth in preparation.

Hiiihhhh...hah uhhhh snf snf...ugh...” The feeling faded and he sighed in annoyance. Now it would come back later. He stood up to change clothes before making his way down the stairs carefully.

“You're up. About time.” Allen joked as he walked in the house wiping his face with a sweat soaked towel. He wore nothing more than his black tank top and gray sport shorts, also soaked in sweat. He walked over to him with his happy grin and laughed. “Whoa, you look like a zombie, did you get any sleep last night?” Allen pointed under his eye lids to gesture to Zack's. He shrugged and rubbed under his eye. “Well, I'm going to take a hot shower. Later.” He waved and trotted up the stairs. Zack stood at the bottom sniffling and coughed into his fist before walking to the couch and curling up next to the arm rest to watch the News. He yawned loudly and coughed again. It took all of his will and strength to stay awake and they were quickly fading with each blink he made. His nose twitched again and he raised his hand over his mouth just in time.

“Hih-Hitchu! Ichu! Ishu! Itch!” He squeaked behind his hand and sighed as he fell back on the couch. With a wet sniffle he rubbed under his nose and closed his eye to relax. Nick walked in a few minutes later with a plate of eggs, grits, and jammed toast for Zack and found him snoozing in the couch. He smirked and placed the plate on the table and shook Zack's shoulder.

“Hey, wake up. Ya feelin' okay dude?” Nick asked as his smirk faded. Zack sat up quickly and nodded his head at the question, muttering an apology. Nick nodded back and sat next to him, picking up the remote to find a different channel to watch. He looked down at his plate of food and grimaced at the smell. His stomach growled, more or less gurgled, at the smell and he reluctantly brought the plate to his lap and nibbled on the toast.

He was grateful that Nack hadn't prepared one of his 'king sized' breakfasts, that would have killed him. Even though the small bit in front of him would give him trouble through the day though, he managed to eat enough on his plate to not cause too much curiosity. Nick had settled on C.O.P.S on the T.V and they had watched the full episode when Allen reappeared downstairs fully dressed.

“You guys ready to go?” He called out excited and trotted over to Zack's side of the couch.

“Yeah, just waitin' on Zack. He's a bit out of it today.” They laughed and Zack turned to them confused on what Allen was talking about. “See what I mean?” Nick nudged Zack's shoulder.

“You were going to take us to see the new Iron Man Movie! We still have time, but I want to be early to the theater!” Allen said with even more energy and he ran around fist pumping the air. Zack blinked a few times and then groaned when he remembered the promise he had made. Allen was, is, a major Iron Man fan and he had told him that today they would see the movie. He cleared his throat and carried his plate into the kitchen to trash hie remains and place it in the sink for later. When he came back in, Allen and Nick were putting their shoes on. He walked to the door and pulled his purple vest over his head and put his shoes on. “This is going to be the best thing EVER!” Zack winced at his volume but found himself grinning at how happy he was. They made their way to the car and drove onwards to the theater.

Playing with Zack is fun, hope this first part is okay. smile.png

Zack's Cold

Part two

It was a good fifteen minutes before arriving at their location with Allen jumping around in the passenger seat at all the Iron Man cut outs in front of the walkway. Zack managed a grin for half a second before his nose twitched and he covered his mouth with his hand.

“Hiksh! Hish Hish!” He sniffled softly and turned back to see Allen still gazing.

“Bless you.” A calm voice spoke behind him and Nick popped his head up to see him. Zack blushed and nodded his thanks. After he parked and they stepped out, they had to quickly follow an over excited German to the ticket line. “Jeeze, calm down dude.” Nick joked with a smile as they started a conversation. Zack was standing in line patiently and rubbed at his nose every thirty seconds or so as to not cause too much suspicion. He sniffled softly a few times and muffled a few coughs behind his lips, glancing to his friends to see if they had noticed. His eye drooping, throat scratchy, nose stuffed and irritated, he just wanted to go home and sleep this off. But the only way that would happen was if he said something, and would he? No, why? Because Allen was happy and that was all he cared about. He was going to stay through the movie even if it killed him inside.

“Hih hih! Hahhh...hih!” Again, even if it killed him. He raised his hand quickly to retrieve his handkerchief from his pocket and placed it over his mouth and nose. A heavy blush sprouted on his face for what he was about to do in public and prepared for the worst to come. “Hih...Hisch! Ishu! Hih-Isch!” Three squeaks made themselves present in the cloth and his blush deepened as he opened his eye. He sniffled again with a sigh and pocketed his handkerchief. He jumped to a light touch on his shoulder and turned to see Nick.

“Bless ya, Zack. Ya feelin' okay?” Nick's hand rubbed his shoulder gently and Allen walked over with a crooked face.

“Yes yes, I'm fine.” He reached into his other pocket and handed Nick the money for the tickets before walking off to the restroom, leaving his friends in utter confusion on his behavior. He scurried inside and quickly plucked some paper towels to blow his nose, causing the irritation in his nose to grow and his head jerked forward. “Hik'chu! Ishu! Kitch! Kishih! Ugh...snf snf bloody hell...” He blew his nose again and caved into a fit of coughing that scratched his throat. He sighed heavily when the fit ended and walked back out to meet his friends in the food line. He ignored their curious stares and looked at the menu for anything he might stomach for them to leave him alone, which he found nothing as assumed.

“Hey, Zack? You've been actin' off today, is everythin' alright?” Nick asked after pushing himself and Zack away from the crowd as Allen bought the snacks.

“Yes, everything is fine Nick.” He looked into Nick's eyes with as much confidence as he could muster and when that failed to prove anything, he grinned and poked Nick's nose playfully. “Don't worry about me, everything is fine. I'm just tired, as I said earlier.” Nick pushed his hand away with a grin of his own and sighed.

“If you say so. At least let us know, alright?” Zack nodded and Nick walked back to Allen. He sighed heavily again and turned away.

'Could I have made that any closer? And when did Nick become so sharp to see things?' Zack thought to himself and shook his head. “No matter...” He turned back as his friends made their way over to him with a large popcorn, nachos, candy and three medium drinks on a tray. He swallowed a pained feeling of dread from the sight of the filled tray. Nick again caught something off when Zack failed to make a usual comment about the food and gave him a worried glance as they walked into their screened room and took their seats in the center middle. Nick purposely made Zack sit in the middle of them to watch him as the movie played. Though Allen was the only one not really focused on anything but the movie and Zack's strange behavior, Nick was noticing everything. The theater was warm like always and yet Zack was shivering as if it were freezing.

After about half way through the movie, Nick felt the need to finally confront him. He pulled out his cellphone and text Allen a 'be right back' message and pulled Zack out of the room and into the hall way. The action caused him to flinch and look into Nick's eyes nervously. And at that time, the change of the air's temperature irritated his throat as he breathed and turned his head into his fist to cover another harsh fit of coughing. Nick placed both hands on his hips with a serious expression glued to his face as he watched Zack hack up his lungs.

“Ya wanna tell me what this is about?” Nick's voice was stern and cut off from all joking that you would assume he was the mature one in the group. Zack turned and gave him the most tired and apologetic look as he shivered and sniffled. It was too late at this point to hide it, Nick had caught him fair and square and felt too tired to argue a logical reason. Nick stepped forward and slowly reached his hand up to feel Zack's forehead. Not surprised at the warmth, he slid his hand through his dreads and shook his head with a sigh. “Well that explains a lot...”

“I'm sorry...I knew Allen wanted to see the movie and-” Nick hushed him and turned towards the room they came out of and then back to him.

“I understand that much...you can be too giving sometimes y'know that? Think about yourself for once.” Nick gave a soft frown and held out his hand. Zack looked down to his hand confused and then back to his eyes. “Keys. You're not driving like this.” Zack opened his mouth to retaliate but was interrupted with another fit of coughing and obtained his keys from his pocket and dropped them in Nick's hand. Nick then escorted Zack to the lobby to sit on a bench to relax until the movie was over.

Next part will be up soon! :D

Zack's Cold

Part three Final

During their long wait, Nick and sat beside Zack and covered him with his jacket to help with his shivering. He was sniffling nonstop from his nose starting to run and was too tired to care what anyone might have thought. Nick was staring at him with concern as Zack tried to pass off as being healthy the best he could. Nick sighed heavily and turned towards the hall as he waited for Allen to appear at any moment. There was a push on his shoulder and turned back to see Zack had leaned on him with his eye closed. He grinned and pulled his jacket tighter around Zack as he sniffled more and brought his hand to his mouth. Nick's eyes widened and looked around to see if anyone was near them, hearing Zack's quiet desperate breaths.

Hihhh hih...hahhhih snf snf...hihhhh...” Nick looked around a final time and gently nudged Zack's cheek with his shoulder. “Hih-hih-hixhu! Ashu! Ish Ishu! Hah! Haschu!” They were a bit louder than his normal squeaks from his stuffed nose and muttered a congested apology that Nick smiled at. “If you ged sick snf snf I sindcerely apologise...” He said with a thick wet sniffle that made him shiver more.

“Enough of your apologies. If I get sick then so be it. At least I’ll admit to it.” He grinned and perked up when Allen trotted out to them with the biggest of smiles.

“Why did you guys ditch?” Nick turned to Zack and he frowned and kneeled in front of him. “Shit, is he alright?” Allen looked up to Nick and he shrugged. They both looked to Zack when they heard light snoring and their frowns deepened.

“Let's get him home. Sit in the back with him.” Allen nodded and Nick carried their sleeping friend to his car, placing his head on Allen's lap and driving them home. It was just over two hours later when Zack cracked open his eye and looked around. He was laying on something soft and felt two thick blankets tucked around him. Before he could process where he was, he was interrupted with nose twitching wildly and he shot up with a flurry of uncovered sneezes.

“Heh-Hetchu! Hisch Hish! Kshu! Ish Ishu! Kischu! Snf snf...” He groaned and coughed loudly with a hand holding his throat. With a sigh he rubbed at his head to how humiliating he must have looked. It was bad enough he had a tiny and slender frame, but now he looked even more fragile and it killed him for anyone to see him in such a state.

“Nice to see you're up.” Allen knocked lightly on Zack's door and carried a small bowl of soup to his nightstand. “How do you feel?” He sat beside him and placed his hand to Zack's forehead. He didn't answer or look at him and only stared forward. Allen grinned with a raised brow and handed him the soup. Zack looked at it curiously and then up to Allen.

“Whad is this?” Zack asked with as much care as he could to not hurt his feelings in the wrong way.

“Tomato soup. It's my mother's recipe. She used to give it to me when I got sick.” Allen scratched his head with a smirk and Zack grinned thankfully as he swallowed a spoon and blinked.

“This is snf snf really good snf Allen.” He rubbed at his nose as he sniffled. “I'mb sorry snf id's mbaking by ndose rund snf snf snf.” Allen laughed and handed him a few tissues from the box on the nightstand and Zack blew his nose between spoons.

“Sorry, there's like three different spices and peppers in it to help your sinuses. And the broth that's in it will help with your throat...” He paused when he saw Zack's face scrunch up and lifted a hand to his face.

“Hih...hah-ashu! Aschu! Hischi! Hashi Hashi! Hah-hah!” His mouth hung open as his breath hitched quickly. He turned to Allen, who had turned away respectfully, and tugged on his jacket gently with his eye watering. He turned around hesitantly and sucked in his lips to stop himself from laughing at his sick and currently tortured friend. He reached his hand up and gently slid his knuckle up and down Zack's nose to help coax the sneeze out. After a few more hitching breaths and soft ticklish motions on his nose, he pushed Allen's hand away and turned his head into his elbow. “Hak'shu! Hik'shu! Ishu Ishu! Hah hah-ashu! Ichu...!” He slumped back with a few wet stuffy sniffles and sighed. “Thangk you...” Allen gave him a sympathetic grin and sat him up against the headboard.

“Gesundheit times a hundred! You okay?” Allen asked worriedly. “I've never heard you sneeze like that. Two or three on a blue moon, but nothing like this this.” Allen moved the soup off of Zack's lap and placed a hand on his shoulder. Zack gave another sniffle and rubbed his watering eye, nodding tiredly.

“I'mb sorry...id only happends whed i'mb sigk or mby ndose is really irridaded...” He blew his nose with another tissue. “Thank you, Allen. And I’m sorry about today...” Allen moved back with a caring smile and shook his head.

“Don't worry about it. I would have had no problem watching the movie at a later date if I had known you didn't feel well.” He reached a hand out and gently unclipped Zack's eye patch and placed it on the nightstand. “What are friends for?” His smile turned into a smirk and they both laughed. There was a knock at the door and they both turned to see Nick walking in with a thermometer.

“Glad to see you're feelin' a bit better, dude.” Nick walks around Allen and hands Zack the thermometer. “Allen was goin' crazy after he found out you were sick.” He sneered and laughed as Allen's cheeks flared.

“I-I did not!” Nick laughed louder and they began a playful argument as Zack waited for the device to beep as he grinned to them. They always did manage to put a smile on his face, ill or not, it was pretty entertaining. The device beeped and their playing came to a halt. Nick retrieved the device and grinned.

“100.4. A bit more rest and some cold meds and you should be good. Take it easy.” Nick pat Zack's shoulder and they left for him to get some sleep. Zack gave a soft smile and curled up under the blankets. He closed his tired eye and drifted off into a peaceful slumber.

Sorry this one ended the way it did. I had company over and they spent the night so I couldn't do much. Hope the ending was alright :P If anyone has any requests please let me know. I shall be working on yet another story soon in the meantime :D

Nickles' Cold

Part one

It was a late evening when the trio arrived home from Zack's parent's house. They had insisted on meeting his new housemates and went out of their way to prepare a large buffet for the boys. Zack was embarrassed as could possibly and was probably the only one relieved to be back at his house where he could relax. He kicked his shoes off by the door and hug his sweater on the coat rack and flopped on the couch. For someone so calm and composed, his family had completely drained every drop of energy from him and had crashed on the couch without a single care of how he looked. He had dosed off by the time Nick and Allen walked into the living room with their sports clothes on and a basket ball under Nick's arm.

“Hey Zack! You wanna watch-” Allen slapped a hand over Nick's mouth and they looked down to see him curled up and sleeping quietly.

“Let's just leave a note in case he wakes up.” Allen smiled with bright eyes Nick nodded with a grin. Allen wrote a short letter and placed it on the coffee table for Zack to read when he wakes up. He points to the door with his thumb and they quietly make their way out and down the street to a small court to shoot some hoops. They noticed a few thick and gray clouds coming their direction. “Think we should play later? I don't like those clouds...or that lightning.” He said after a flash of light.

“Nah. We should be fine, just a few hoops. Why, ya scared of a little lightnin'?” Nick mocked with a smirk. Allen chased him into the fenced area playfully and they began a short game. They were so concentrated on their game that even the loudest of howling thunder didn't catch their ears...until it was too late. Nick had scored a basket just as rain poured down on them. They looked up to the sky where dark clouds now hovered above them and they laughed. “Okay, now we can go.” Nick laughed harder as he retrieved their ball and met at the sidewalk. Allen gave him an evil grin and Nick returned with the same.

“First one back gets the shower?”

“You're on.”

“3.”

“2.”

“1.”

“GO!” They bolted off down the sidewalk with Allen already in the lead. The two had always seen each other as teammates, but also as rivals at times and would often have pointless races or some type of competition on a daily basis. This race just happened to take place in the middle of a thunderstorm to be the first one to take a hot shower. But the odds were Allen's favor as he was the fastest. When they approached Zack's house, Nick had gave in at the driveway, seeing as how Allen was already at the door. He turned back with a smile and waited for Nick to walk up and they high fived and walked in.

“You're getting faster.” Allen pat his shoulder as they took their shoes off at the door.

“Yeah...but I still can't beat ya.” He laughed out of breath and stared up to Allen who was breathing fine.

“I played eight years of Football, I was the fastest on my team.” Allen grinned happily.

“You mean Soccer?” They laughed at the joke and made their way up the stairs and into the bathroom. He handed Nick a towel to dry off with and made his way to the shower as Nick walked to his room. He pulled out of his wet clothes and slipped into a white t-shirt and white striped black shorts. He yawned loudly and untied his pulled up dreads, that were soaked through, and wrapped the towel around his neck. He turned his T.V on to cure any boredom that would form, then leaned himself back on the headboard. After a few minutes, he had laid on his side curled up and sleeping. He was so tired from playing and racing that he had actually crashed and didn’t even hear his door open a while later.

“Nick? Allen is out, did you want to take a shower?” Zack poked his head in and walked to Nick's bed to see him asleep and shivering from not drying off. His expression stayed neutral, as always, as he walked around and pulled the covers over him and wrapped the towel around his hair. “I swear, one of these days you're going to do something really stupid and I'm going to have to help both you and Allen out of trouble...again.” The door creaked and Zack turned to see Sprinkles hopping over to his feet with his puffy tail wiggling. “Would you mind staying with him?” The rabbit looked up at the bed and Zack lifted him up onto the covers. “Just for tonight.” He scratched behind his long ears and the rabbit hopped over to Nick and curled up in his arms. Zack gave a small smile and turned off the T.V before exiting the room. “Good night.” He said softly and closed Nick's door with a click. Zack walked to Allen's room and knocked lightly before entering. “Nick is asleep. How long were you two playing?”

He asked curiously as Allen was leaned forward ruffling his hair in the towel, then tossed it onto his bed.

“Not long. We only shot a few hoops until it started raining. Then we raced home.” He turned around to grab a shirt from his dresser and pulled it over his head.

“You raced home? In the rain? In that storm?” Zack pointed towards a window and Allen nodded with a grin, obviously not getting Zack's point. He shook his head with his hand placed over it with a sigh. “You two are something else. So similar, yet so different.” Allen laughed and Zack chuckled at how right he was. “Well, I'm going to bed, good night Allen.” He waved a hand and walked out into the hall and stopped. He turned around and made his way back to Nick's room to check on his sleeping friends and found Sprinkles curled up under Nick's wrapped dreads. There was a slight mumbling noise coming from Nick as he continued to shiver and he walked in to grab a blanket from his closet and draped it over him. He gently slid two fingers down Sprinkles' back and left to sleep himself.

I will be working on the next part and hopefully have it done soon! smile.png Also, my apologies for this being a lame first part. I will try my best on the following parts to make it up. biggrin.png I will be returning home in a matter of days, but I will try and post again before then.

Nickles' Cold

Part two

Morning came the next day and instead of being the first one up and moving, Nick was still curled up in his bed under the blankets. Switching roles with him was Allen, who was up, dressed and ready to start his day. A few coughs came from the New Yorker as he opened his eyes to the sun shining in his room. He sat up with a hand to his head from a slight headache and groaned at the feeling. The towel around his dreads dropped onto Sprinkles and woke him with a start.

“Oh! Sorry about that, dude.” He whispered and cleared his throat. The rabbit poked his head out with his nose twitching and hopped his way onto Nick's lap. He felt strange this morning. His head hurt, throat was a little sore, and his sinuses felt like they were being stuffed with cotton. He inhaled deeply through his nose which caused him to gasp at a strong tickle feeling and he quickly raised a hand to his mouth. “Hak'SHOO! Hek'CHUH! Ugh...snnffk...” He sighed in pain from the strength of his own sneezes and pat his chest with his fist. He coughed again and leaned forward into his fist to be as quiet as possible, knowing that there were two other people across the hall. Another heavy sigh brought him up and he lifted Sprinkles into his arm and carried him out into the hallway, where he was met by Allen.

“Nick! It's about time you got up. You never sleep in late. Did the race make you that tired?” He had his sarcastic grin as he laughed and Nick forced a smile and light chuckle.

“Yeah...ya wore me out yesterday.” He said tiredly and gently set Sprinkles on the floor. Allen looked at him curiously, noticing Nick's lack of energy. Nick rose a hand to his face when his nose started to run and sniffled thickly to keep his nasal fluid hidden. Allen stared at him as he rubbed at his nose and watched his head tilt back with a quick breath. “Hak'SCHU! Hih'KSHU! Jesus...” His cheeks flushed and he walked past Allen to the bathroom to blow his nose, giving a loud and wet honk that sent shivers down his spine.

“Gesundheit.” Allen said at the doorway with arms crossed. Nick nodded his thanks and coughed into his fist. “That doesn’t sound good...” He made his way over and placed his hand to Nick's forehead. Nick gave him a curious look. “You don't feel warm. How do you feel?” Nick shrugged and quickly turned away to another duo of sneezes.

“Heh-SHEW! Hak'SCHEW! Jesus...snnffk.” He coughed roughly and pat his chest to the tightness. “I'd give anythin' to have Zack's squeaks right now...shit...” Allen pat his back when he coughed again.

“Gesundheit. I'm sure he would love to give you his.” He laughed jokingly and Nick chuckled. He turned the sink on and leaned forward to splash water on his face. Allen retrieved a small towel from the wall and wiped Nick's face as he coughed again, more painful sounding than the rest this time. “Maybe you should take it easy today, get some more sleep in and rest.” Nick looked at Allen through the mirror and frowned.

“What's today?” He asked with a raised brow and waited amused when Allen took a second to think. He leaned back up and pat Allen's shoulder. “Today's when we leave for America for my game, remember? Flight leaves at 3:47pm.” Allen gasped and turned to catch Nick as he left the bathroom.

“You're joking right? You can't play if you're getting sick! Or are sick!” Allen shouted as he chased after Nick down the stairs.

“I'll be fine, at most it's a small cold from the rain.” Nick answered uncaring.

“But what if it get's worse or doesn't go away? You could collapse if you get worse!” Allen argued as they walked into the kitchen.

“Then I'll take medicine and deal with it. Allen, there's nothin' you can say to stop me from plahh...hah! Hak'SCHEW! Heh-KSHU! Playin'...” He rubbed under his nose with a few sniffles. “Both my team and Coach are waitin' for me to show up. Snnffk. They left yesterday mornin' after I nagged them that I would be there.” He tore a piece of paper towel off from the counter and blew his nose again.

“Nick...please tell me you're not serious?”Allen placed a gentle hand on Nick's shoulder and turned to see his face. He frowned at what he found. Nick's nose and cheeks were a deep red on his dark skin and his eyelids drooped. “Please...we can call and try to postpone the game until you feel better at least.”

“Why would the game need to be postponed?” Both Allen and Nick flinched and gulped nervously as they turned and saw Zack walk in with his arms crossed and Sprinkles at his feet. He didn't look very pleased about something and the boys looked to each other on how much Zack might have heard. There was a long pause between them and Zack's solid glare, that would make the hardest of criminals confess. Allen opened his mouth to speak but was cut short by Nick coughing painfully into his fist. Allen again pat his back to ease the coughing and Zack walked closer with his glare on Nick. When he leaned back up to see Zack's glare, he grit his teeth but managed to stay strong and glared back to accept the challenge.

“The game won't be postponed. I'm goin' to play and that's final.”

Hoping this story is working out okay. I am quite interested to see what I can type up myself. shifty.gif

Nickles' Cold

Part three

Though Allen and Zack tried to reason with their stubborn friend, they still ended up packing and made their way to the airport. They arrived an hour earlier to ensure they would catch their flight, considering all airports are a hassle in general. With Nick's 'explosive' sneezing and harsh coughing, they were surprised he was able to pass it off as being allergies to get on the plane. However. Nick's tough act didn't last two minutes after they took their seats. He passed out in the window seat next to Allen and they shared a sigh.

“Are you telling me you're not the slightest bit concerned?” Allen asked curiously. Zack had allowed for Nick to win their glare battle and decided to go along with his stubbornness.

“I have the most concern for his well being, Allen. But if he is so intent to play in his condition, we can't do much to stop him. The idiot will just have to learn the hard way.” Zack answered almost too coldly. Allen looked over to Nick and rubbed his leg before getting up to fetch him a pillow and blanket. Zack glanced over to Nick with his arms crossed and shook his head. “I swear...sometimes I really have to think of who is the most stubborn and hard-headed out of the three of us.” He grinned and leaned back in his seat. “Guess we'll find out, won't we?” He brought his knees up to his chest and pulled out a small book from his pocket to read. The trip would take a number of hours so a little reading would keep him occupied as Nick slept and Allen played a small hand held video game.

A few hours later.

The plane made a bumpy landing on the long runway in New Jersey, enough to stir Nick from his long nap. He looked down at a thin blanket around him as he shivered and curled up in his chair as he coughed and cleared his throat.

“You're up. We just landed, try and wake up a bit okay?” Allen pat Nick's leg with a soft smile and he nodded tiredly. They were the last ones to get off the plane and slowly made their way to retrieve all of their luggage. Allen was at Nick's side as he wobbled and sniffled his way behind Zack. When they arrived inside there was a large group of people holding up a team sign. They all waved to Nick's team as they ran over and crowded them in seconds. Nick put on a brave face and was high fiving everyone until his Coach tapped him on the shoulder. He turned and saw his Coach’s face go from impressed to shock in a second.

“Nickles. You look exhausted.” His Coach said roughly while examining him. He noticed a red tint on his nose and cheeks along with him slightly shivering and continuous swallowing. “Nickles, are you feeling okay, lad?” He reached his hand up to Nick's forehead and his team silenced at their Coach. Nick looked away from his eyes as he stared down at him. “You have a fever...” Allen quickly walked up to feel Nick's forehead as well and frowned.

“You didn't have one before we left...maybe you should relax a bit at the hotel?” He placed a hand on Nick's shoulder and felt his restrained shivering. He turned to the Coach. “Are we all going to the same hotel, or different ones?”

“The same. You three will be sharing a room no doubt?” He watched them nod and crossed his arms. “Very well. Arthur, escort Nickles and his friend to the room.” A tallish blonde nodded happily and lead Allen and Nick away from the crowd, leaving Zack to find their belongings and the team to help carry them. Allen remained to Nick's side as they followed his teammate. Nick gave a think sniffle and stoped his walk to bring a hand to his face from an irritating tickle in his nose.

“Hah! Hak'SHREW! Hik'SCHIEW! Guh...” He sniffled again and rubbed at his nose, receiving blessings as he continued to walk.

“Are you okay, Nick?” Arthur asked, turning around in the hallway. Nick nodded and gasped for a breath before bending forward with more sneezes.

“Hik'SHIH! Hap'SHOO! HISHOO!” He groaned at how wet his sneezes were getting and wiped his running nose on his sleeve.

“Gesundheit! Holy shit dude, you never sneeze more than twice.” Allen pat Nick's back as he coughed harshly into his sleeve. He looked over to Arthur, who pulled out a blue handkerchief and offered it to Nick to blow his nose. He muttered a congested thanks and blew his nose loudly to help rid it of nasal fluid.

HISHOO! Kih'SCHOO! Heh'SHUH! Snnffk...damb.” He sneezed into Arthur's handkerchief as Arthur slid the I.D card through the scanner to open the hotel door, releasing a blast of cold air that made Nick shiver more. He took in a breath of the cold air and the dryness rubbed against his sore throat, sending him into a coughing fit at the door. Allen pulled him in gently and sat him on a bed while Arthur went to get Nick a cup of cool water. Allen sat beside him and pat his back until the coughing subsided.

“Nick...you don't honestly believe you can play like this do you? Do you even hear yourself?” Nick bit his lip and hugged himself for warmth as he though of a reply. Arthur returned with the water and handed it to Nick to drink. “No one on your team would want you playing if they found out.”

“That's right...Coach noticed the second he looked at you. And the others and I weren't too far behind.” Arthur added and sat on the other bed. But judging by Nick's silence, he wasn't budging. “At least let us see if we can postone-”

“Do...we cad play domorrow...I'll be fide afder if I dake sobe medicide ad go do sleep early.” He ended with a thick wet sniffle and blow his blew his nose in the handkerchief again. Arthur sighed and looked down worried.

“It's not up to me. If Coach says we're not playing, then that's it. His word is law, Nick. And I’m not going against him.

“You scared of goin' against him?” Nick's tone was almost threatening as he glared up at him.

“No, it's not that. It's just...we know how important this game is, and yes we want to win. But I can bet that not one person on the team would sacrifice the health of a team member to win this game, or any game in the future.” Allen smiled to Arthur's words and turned to Nick as he stared shocked. Allen pat his shoulder and Nick looked over to him.

“Guess that means you better take some medicine and get some rest.” Nick took a long stare at Allen and then at Arthur, thinking hard on what choices he had, and sighed heavily in defeat. Allen pat his shoulder again. “That's my bro. Now get into bed and I’ll see what we can do about that fever of yours. Sound good?” Allen stood along with Arthur as Nick nodded and they made their way to the hall to give Nick some peace.

Thank you guys for reading! More sneezy Nick to come! ;)

And now I give you part four!

Nickles' Cold

Part four

Nick sighed deeply and crawled out of his clothing and under the thick covers on the hotel bed. Pressing his face into the soft fluffy pillow and he stared at the wall on his stomach, giving in to full effect of his illness. His head was pounding, his throat felt like he had swallowed sandpaper, his nose was clogged and running, and his whole body felt sore and cold. With a loud tired groan he buried his face in the pillow and closed his eyes, quickly falling asleep to the coolness.

He had slept for over an hour until he stirred from his slumber with a rasping coughing fit that scraped his throat. It lasted about two minutes before he could breathe and turned over onto his side, pulling the covers closer to him as he continued to shiver. There was nasal fluid leaking down his upper lip from his stuffed nose. He attempted to sniffle but found the effort useless as it only irritated his nose and he gasped a quick breath before sneezing tiredly and painfully into the bed.

“Heh-KSHU! Hinxg'SHUH! Hak'SCHEW! Henk'SHOO! Guh...heh...heschew!” He let out a tired moan when the fit ended and moved a hand to cover his head. The last sneeze was incredibly wet, leaving Nick to deal with more nasal fluid dripping down his lip. Little did Nick know that his entire team and his friends were in the room with him and witnessed his outbursts. They all stared at him worried and concerned but remained as quiet as possible to not startle him. To see one of their best players fall this ill was bad enough, but not once had they expected Nick to get sick in the first place. After all, he was their most immune teammate and had never once fallen ill on them before. Zack and Allen looked at each other with guilt and Zack turned to Nick with his arms crossed. Allen walked into the bathroom and came back a few seconds later with an ear thermometer.

“You should take it. You have more sturdy hands, and I can tell you're just as worried as we are to know his temperature.” Allen placed the device in Zack's open hand and everyone turned to watch Zack walk to Nick's side and gently placed the ear piece in his ear. Nick moved his head slightly to the plastic feeling but didn't wake. 60 seconds later the device beeped and Zack quickly made his way back to Allen with the numbers up. His eyes widened and he raised a hand to bite his thumb. Allen rubbed Zack's shoulder and took the device from his shaking hand. He walked over to the second bed, the one that Nick's team had claimed as a giant chair, and handed it over for them to see. “We have to bring it down. He's had colds before...but a cold wouldn't spark that high of a fever in just a few hours.”

“Wait! This can't be right!” One of them said loudly.

“That's not good...” Another spoke, passing the device to their Coach. He took a hard look at the numbers and tossed it on the bed.

“I'll see if I can get him some good medicine. Henry, retrieve a wet cloth and cold water for Nickles, he is not to get worse while I am gone. Is that clear?” He glared at his team as they nodded and whispered a 'Yes sir'. A wet sniffle caught everyone's attention and they turned to see Nick sitting up on his arm with a hand over his face.

“HISHOO! HESHOO! Hah...Hap'SHOO!” He flopped back down with a cough and sniffle.

“Bless you...” Arthur whispered sadly and the team member beside him rubbed his back soothingly.

“Could someone get him some tissues? He'll drown in his own snot at this rate.” Someone commented in an annoyed tone and was swatted in the head by the Coach.

“I want no trouble from you, Nate.” He received a light nod and looked to Nick again before walking out. “You're in charge until I return, Jackson.” The one called nodded and turned to Allen, who was leaning back against a small dresser.

“What was his temperature? I didn't see it.” Arthur said softly and reached for the device behind him. “Oh...it's in Celsius. Can you read this Joseph?” He asked the person beside him.

“103...not good.” He sighed and leaned forward on his knees. Arthur placed the device back and walked over to Nick. He spotted his handkerchief he lent him and picked it up off the bed. He frowned and bent down over Nick carefully, wiping his nose gently. His team smiled and laughed quietly to themselves. Arthur smiled at his work and sat beside him to rub his back.

“Gotta love his motherly side.” Joseph grinned. He was nudged in the side by another member.

“You know why he's so motherly to him, right?” He asked with a smirk.

“Carlos, we all know why. It's not that hard to guess.” Joseph pushed Carlos onto the bed with a grin.

“Notice what?” Both Allen and Zack asked. The team on the bed all looked to them surprised. Jackson stood from his spot and waved his hand for them to follow him into the corner.

“Arthur's a bit on the... “He waved his hand and posed girlishly with his hand on his hip, like a model taking pictures. “...side. He really likes Nick, to put it simply.” Allen and Zack to a moment to process his explanation...and then it clicked.

“Oh!” They said together and Jackson nodded.

“You can't tell at first glance, but when you get to know him and spend enough time around him, you figure it out eventually.” They laughed quietly and walked back to their spots. Nick had turned back around towards the other bed and Arthur was gently combing his hand through his dreads.

Sorry if this was a little lame, I never said this story would be perfect tonguesmiley.gif
