@AntheaHolmes Danke! 🌷 I must admit I haven't seen "Les Miserables", but maybe one day...?

The book is amazing but I also like the 2012 version of the musical film. It's with Aaron Tveit. Also Anne Hathaway's voice is amazing.Β

@AntheaHolmes Thanks for the info. I think I'll catch it next time it's on TV. πŸ‘

One of my favorite quotes as it helped me in times of grief:

”Goodbyes are only for those who love with their eyes. Because for those who love with heart and soul, there is no such thing as separation”. - (Rumi)

@jc475 Thank you so much for this very touching quote! ❀️

I just shared it with someone who has recently suffered the loss of a loved one. 🌻

Today's quote:

"The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul."
- by Audrey Hepburn

@Klingon Thanks for sharing those two very wise quotes by Albert Einstein!
My favourite one among his quotes is this:

"Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.”

Here comes a very powerful one I heard today:

"If we want peace, we have to be peace.
Peace is a practice and not a hope."

β€œOur greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fallβ€œ

its quite cheesy, but it’s one I think about a lot, especially whilst I was training in a new career

"Bright star, would I were steadfast as thou artβ€”
Not in lone splendour hung aloft the night
And watching, with eternal lids apart,
Like nature's patient, sleepless Eremite,
The moving waters at their priestlike task
Of pure ablution round earth's human shores,
Or gazing on the new soft-fallen mask
Of snow upon the mountains and the moorsβ€”
Noβ€”yet still stedfast, still unchangeable,
Pillow'd upon my fair love's ripening breast,
To feel for ever its soft fall and swell,
Awake for ever in a sweet unrest,
Still, still to hear her tender-taken breath,
And so live everβ€”or else swoon to death."

- John Keats (Bright Star)Β

Sorry I haven't contributed in awhile. Life has been crazy lately. Anyway here's some more quotes from my collection for today.

"May those who love us, love us. And those who don't, may God turn their hearts. And if he can't turn their hearts, may he at least turn their ankles, so we'll know them by their limping." - old Irish proverb

Β

"For the cold, strange eyes of a little mermaid and the gleam of her golden hair, we shall see, while above us, the waves roar and whirl, a ceiling of amber, a pavement of pearl." - Matthew Arnold

Hey everybody here, thanks for contributing! 😊
@Barbie Oh yes, being easy on yourself is definitely important!... Did you hear or read the quote somewhere, or is it your own thought? (Of course, we can quote ourselves too. πŸ˜‰ )

@TartanSneezer There is so much truth in those words. I don't thnk it's cheesy at all. Actually, it reminds me of a Japanese expression, "fall seven times, get up eight times". I think about that a lot too! πŸ’š

@AngelRain The first one made me grin 😎 , and the second one is so poetic and romantic - it makes me feel as if I was in a world of fantasy. πŸ’™
