Bruyere Posted March 3, 2013 Share Posted March 3, 2013 He definitely sounded very hoarse last night, especially in the first and last thirds of the show and there was a fair bit of coughing from him as well and I think, only once was it relevant to the plot. He also coughed during the curtain call (not that there is anything as hideously formal and old-fashioned as actual curtains present).Jamie Ballard who played Macduff was also coughing throughout the show and at one point kept drinking from what looked like a Lucozade bottle (can't lie, in an environmentally, post-apocalyptic, dystopic Scottish future I'm disappointed it wasn't Irn-Bru!)Very good show, not perfect but I'd highly recommend it if you get the chance to see it! The. Freaking. Time. I think one of the first things I read about him back in 2005 when the first Narnia movie came out was that he'd had a cold when filming Mr Tumnus' crying scene, and the man just keeps on giving... Even though I'm attracted to it, I do feel awful for him. I'm sure being sick so frequently creates inconvenient scheduling conflicts (in fact, he actually had to cancel an event or two recently because he's so under the weather). I feel really bad that he can't rest or take a few days off due to being in a play at the moment, but hopefully he'll get better soon! Link to comment
